A RANT AGAINST APATHY

I personally committed myself to this cause after realizing that my friends, who had just viewed the film Hotel Rwanda with me and had been horrified by the events it portrayed, would wake up the next morning unaware and apathetic to genocide in the world.

Please do not forget.

We must give voice to those who can not speak for themselves.

I'm working to network with people, youth in particular, to raise awareness and help raise funds for the Genocide Intervention Fund which was started by students at our school, Swarthmore College by the Swarthmore Sudan group.

The GIF is a novel idea. No one has ever tried to privately fund peace keeping forces but we cannot idle wait and hope that governments will take action. They have let genocide go on many times in the past.

I hope that the youth of youth noise will catch on to this effort. This Fund seeks to really do something incredible.

Yeah I understand that. I'm sorry for sounding so rude. Sometimes this place just makes me a bitter person. Well I know that I wouldn't have liked it if someone would have acted like that towards me when I was new here. So I am very sorry. It's great to be devoted to this, it's a serious issue and really needs something done about it. Thank you for starting a post like this and providing a link to help. It's a great and wise thing to do.
