It was, ironically, just this past week in Cologne, Germany. I just got back yesterday afternoon. It was so amazing!!! If you'd like, you can go to stcolette.net/youthministry and then click on the world youth day link from under where it says "Hello from Gremany". There are picture of the people from my group and also daily journal entries written while we were there...

The German Embassy here in Manila rejected our visa application so I can't come to Cologne this week. I decided to auction the WYD jacket and other items I'm supposed to use and bring as souvenir for other delegates. You may want to check it out at eBay.

Yeah, I am sure anyone who would like can go. But it was started by the Pope who is Catholic and he plays a large role in the experience, so that may be awkward for any non-Catholics...

I'm from the 'burbs of Detroit. I am so excited! Our group is also going to Rome for the three days just prior to all the festivities. I went to the national conference in Houston in 2003 and LOVED it. I have never been to Europe before...I am so psyched!!! (except for the flights...my group has been countless times and always seems to have lost luggage and delayed/cancelled flights...)

It sounds interesting. I wish I could go as well. It would be cool to hang around with other kid your age that have some of the same beliefs as you.

I wish I could go! My youth group has announced it over and over...but I really don't have money...my brother was going to go, but again no money....so have fun...And I'm pretty sure anyone of different Christian faiths can go. We all worship that same God.

Hmmm...I am not really sure. I am Catholic, and I found out about it through my youth group... Here is the link to the official site though, so you might be able to find the information that you need. http://www.wjt2005.de/index.php?id=6&si=1

Is it just for Catholics or can anyone that are between those ages that are from different faiths attend? How do I find out where I can attend?

It isn't until this upcoming August... But anyway, it is for Catholic "youth" between the ages of 18 and 35 (although the US brings some as young as 16...) from all over the world and it is a chance to bond with people of different backgrounds who all share the same faith...the Pope is there too and the best of the best of Catholic speakers and musicians from around the world are there! I am super excited because this is unlike anything I have ever done before and they are expecting ONE MILLION youth to attend this event!

I know it's not August anymore but what exactly is World Youth Day Cologne 2005?
