Well, at a recent scholarship interview that I participated in (don't you just LOVE those?!), one interviewer on the board asked: "As a young person, what do you feel is your role in society as far as what you should/can contribute?" I would just like to see what the rest of you thought on this. Maybe some of you feel that as long as you're young, your only contribution to society is spending money at malls and having fun while you can. But perhaps some of you are willing to go deeper than that and have a real focus for your life, and I'm just curious to know what that might be exactly.

Personally, I believe I am my school's unofficial psychologist. Whether people like it or not, I'm there to analyze them and their issues. I find it kind of fun. Maybe I'll do it for life.
The role in society today is to help everybody that wants something you have. If you see someone that looks left out and lonely, invite them over to your group if its that acasion. Theres more than meets the eye to somebody who walks alone. Sometimes this sunds unrealistic and will never work, but just try it and you will seem immidiate results.
I still feel that we as todays youth should come together and stand up for what is right, as a whole. We all have voices, all we have to do is know how to use them. Find an issue that you feel strongly about and defend it, be heard, don't rest until someone knows how you feel and will consider. This is how we can contribute to society, make the most of these things.

I agree with Ohiosweetgirl... i think that is what i am doing here in YN.... to stop eveil and let the good flow around us.
Right now, I feel that my role in our society is to go and finish out high school and then maybe go to college. I feel this way because being part of the next generation to lead America forward we need to get a good education.

What i want to contribute to society. I want to become the feirst woman president(don't laugh, a girl can dream), or become a child psychologist or psyciatrist, and adopt a child.

Nope, not in my case, if my husband expetcs me to be a 50s mom, I will gladly demonstrate him how a gun works. Then I will gladly take him 6 feet under in my backyard.
