I went to Catholic school for 9 years and used to love God. Upon entering high school, problems arose and it made me question the religion and the crazy people who have killed and been killed over it. I've been doing research on religions because I believe in evolution and facts, but some things are just too beautiful to be just there. I'm curious about the books, practices and faults within religions and I'm looking for some answers. Tell me about your religion. Why do you follow it? Do you believe there is a God but disagree with the idea of religion? Does religion save us or tear us apart? (buddism, christian, muslim, jewish...)

I don't have a religion, so I haven't really spoken up.

I was born into Christianity, but am a self named Agnostic. I have found that my beliefs and Christian beliefs are different. I believe that there is a higher being, and also an after life. It is the other things that i find unbelievable.

A group of us were talking about this in a group meeting thingie and part of the discussion was about how different denominations and Christian groups hold so tightly to differences between them. It's not about that at all, but about following God and His son. If they remembered that, we'd have fewer problems with such things (even other religions). I say that because, when trying to act like Jesus, one starts turning the other cheek more and raising hackles less. Now, that would prevent a church split (which caused problems back in the day when Protestants, Quakers, etc. bickered about leadership and practices and decided on mass-migration), but I don't know if it would keep the peace between any other groups and Christianity. There's always someone who's a 'hater'.

I belive in God. But I dont follow any specific religon. I have my own belifs taken from what I know and have learned. Religon has many perks but it does have its low points.

Yeah, totally. I believe that there's a God. And, I think he loves everyone. There are probably some things i'd take from Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, who knows. I know nothing of some of the other religions but religion in general hasn't brought a lot of good to the world. It's split people apart, it's condemned. It does have good but...it always seems like the bad over comes the good...:-/

thats the thing...i believe in god but i just feel that religion, as much as it may bring ppl together, has also caused so many problems. Wars have gone on for centuries because of religion and values. The middle east, parts of africa...im really intered in hearing about buddism and hinduism.

There are too many religions for anyone to figure out which is the right one, if there even is such a thing.

I believe that religion is for the most part needed by most people today. We just have to remember that it along with the bible were created by man. I also was raised Catholic, and my great grandmother was very devoted to god, and it was through her devotion and love that i gained mine. There are many things she told me that i didn't realize how important they were until years later after she died. When she died I no longer had a good example of how to actually be a good Catholic. A few of the things she told me where that god always loves you and is always with you even if you ignor it no matter who you are. Also, that she never prays to the church or its ideas, but that when you pray it is a moment in your life in which to connect yourself to the god inside of you, not the long white haired man up in the sky sitting on a golden thrown. When it comes to evolution, I see it as a act of god, we all have the divine light and wisdom of god in us. We all know why we have a heart and what it does, but what is its reason for doing it? I believe it is that divine power and energy of your soul.

my religion is Christianity that is taught by Jesus Christ of the Bible. i followed it because upon careful research and testing of all the religions and hearing the doctrines that Christ taught, i am quite sure that this religion is indeed the religion that Christ taught. every little minute detail is based on the Bible. i believe that the Bible is not just an ordinary book that any ordinary man could ever understand. it is the handbook or manual of God to man for man to know why on earth is he here and what kind of god is God. and everything that is written is true - the prophecies. Religion comes from God. God created religion. i believe that the God of the Bible is the creator of everything. Religion is the disciplined way of life that God chastens man. The Religion that is introduced by God of the Bible saves man from sin..God is good but there are the antagonists - the devils which tears man from God. good vs. evil, truth vs lies.
