Nick-->I don't think I'm better than everyone else. What you said seems to be directed at me. I do believe God created all of us. But my definition of God's children must be different hen yours. I believe God's children are the ones that are saved by Him, the ones that aren't saved are still his creations but not what I'd call his children.

quote: Ahem...generalizing again, dear Nick.
eh, eh, eh... I ALMOST generalized, but I caught myself! I added in parenthesis, "(or at least the christians who believe this)." You just stated that you didn't believe in All of it, so that post doesn't necessarily mean you. But, ya, it really does sound bad, but, beliefs are beliefs, I guess. I still don't believe in all that, but it's ok... I'm happy with what I believe in...

Ahem...generalizing again, dear Nick. Actually, though some do not walk the walk, it is taught that we are not better than anyone else and that we are all equal in God's eyes. And it is also taught that only Christians will be saved by Jesus Christ. Therefore: We are all God's children but we will not all go to Heaven. It sounds worst than it is....the ones who don't go to Heaven won't necessarily go to Hell either, in my eyes.

See, that's one thing I HATE about christianity. Christians think they are better than everyone (or at least the christians who believe this). I believe that we are ALL God's children because he created us all, right? Or do you not believe in that SC?

Let me clearly explain my disagreement with you: I have always believed in God's existence and that He was the creator of us all. I have never doubted it, that's just the way it is, the end. I didn't pray some prayer asking Him for forgiveness or to admit to Him that I believe in Him. Why should I have to tell Him I believe in Him? He should know! And I'm positive that He does. That's why I'm saying that you don't have to do exactly as you say just to be Christian...you can accept Him and follow Him without praying that prayer or formally accepting Him. I don't need some ritual for God to know that I know Him.

run-off-the-mill scripted prayer? It's not like it's a "different" prayer. all it is is talking to God, which I'm sure you do right? We might be agreeing on the same thing...and just explaining it differently...

I think that's bull****. You can believe He exists and accept Him and follow Him without bothering with some run-of-the-mill scripted prayer like that.

I mean like admitting to God that you are a sinner, telling him that you believe in Him, and Confessing your sins to him. Basically you pray a prayer like this:"Dear God: I know I have sinned and that sin seperates me from You. I am sorry for my sins. I believe Jesus died on the cross for me so my sins can be forgiven. I believe Jesus rose from the dead and is alive. God, please forgive me. I ask Jesus to come inot my life and be my Savious and Lord. I will obey You and live for You the rest of my life. Thank You. Amen." Praying a prayer that goes along those lines means that you have become a Chrisitian and will go to Heaven when you die. But, of course, you have to be telling the truth in your prayer...actually mean what you are saying in order to become a Chrisitian...otherwise it won't do any good. Some people think that there are many ways to Heaven. But actually there's only one. The Bible Says: 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father but by me.' This means that the only way for anyone to get to Heaven is by commiting your life to Christ.
I hope you don't think you have do go through this process to be a true Christian. I believe I'm a true Christian and have never said a prayer like this. All you have to do to be a true Christian is accept God into your heart and try to follow the Bible to the most logical form and to the best of your ability.
That's what I said. Accept God inot your heart. That's the process of accepting God inot your heart. Otherwise, you haven't really accepted him if you didn't pray a prayer along those 3 simple points I covered.

The being that created the Universe. I just don't like the term "God" because it doesn't really apply in this sense.

More Christian psychobabble. Open your eyes and you'll see that everything you're told isn't necessarily true. My Creator is the same as your God, but I don't believe in the Bible. Will I go to Heaven? I would, if there was one.

quote: Well, I'm a Mormon, and there is a place in our temples that only one person is allowed to enter, except when the janitors clean it, at which time, it's undedicated, cleaned and re-dedicated. The only person allowed to enter is the prophet of the church. However, there are two chairs in there. Both chairs are equally worn.
You see, I don't use the Bible for everything, because, unlike most Christians, I believe in modern revelation.
If you want scientific proof, just read my Christian-made science book. They're obsessed with proving God exists with science.
Hubbabaloo dear, I really hope you didn't truely think that that was going to convince any of us. Not to be mean or anything, but I laughed for about a minute straight after I read that. When you personally go in and see both god and that prophet of yours sitting in the chairs...well I'm afraid I wouldn't believe it even then but at least it wouldn't make me laugh so hard. Ha ha, and your Christian-made science book as scientific proof...I'm sorry but this is killing me. I'm with ilovebush, I didn't think that god ever came down to Earth personally but then I've really got no clue... quote: I'm not God's child.

Really? That makes me hate the bible even more! I thought we all were the children of God, but clearly, God favors people... (your God anyway..)
