I'd be one of those people who confuse you. Personally I beleive there is a God.. however, in the famous words that totally shocked my roommmate.. he can go to hell. In reality I have found him heartless and uncaring, throwing me and people I care about in horrible situations, and then expecting to find our ways out with any assistance no matter how much faith we had. Oh... and don't even get me started on the church as a institution, not all churches are full of hateful hypocrites.. however I've found enough who are, that I don't want to bother anymore.
J'irai bien.

Quick, be more evangelistic!
Those who profess to favor freedom and yet depreciate agitation are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the roar of its many waters. Frederick Douglass

Sometimes, people just don't or can't accept gifts the gods give. It may take them years or even lives to come to terms with it. Just give her time, and if she chooses to believe something that is not directly aligned with what you do, don't get angry ( it's easy to do ). Just realise that your god may not be for everyone, that they can find the divine in other ways.

Why did the Angels turn away? We are but a ( not literal ) mixture of them and all the other celestials, demonics and elementals. It is our nature.
