Well, to the Mayans and other mezoamerican people, they would have no reason to go to Hell. Of course, since I don't belive in Hell that's what I'm going to say. You know the Aztec priests just sat down one day and made up their entire multi-God, human sacrificial religion? Maybe all the religions are like that.

So what about before the Jews? Oh yes of course, you will claim that the world was created by God and that man existed in this form instantly worshiping God.

That aside, if Genisis isn't real, what about say the Mayans who had no hope of getting contact with a Jew or Christianity? Did they go to hell? Did God visit them? Not to my knowlege.

ok, here it is:

Before Christ, God made a covenant with the Jews, that they would be His people, their sins were forgiven by making sacrifices to God.

As for other people outside of the Jews, there were instances where people would be accepted into the tribe of Israel if they changed their beliefs.

And other than that pretty much everyone else died in their sins.

Now I don't claim to know who went to hell and who didn't, I am not God neither should I attempt to judge who God will allow into heaven.

Bull.

Jews had to go to the priest and submit burnt offerings to have their sins forgiven. When Jesus came and died, he served as the offering for everyone else to come. By him, all people were forgiven if they accepted that he died for them.

Or so the Bible says.

So they're in hell, because all non-believers will go to hell.

NOOOOOO......this is such a common misconception.

All Jews who truly believed in God and followed Him and died before Jesus came still had peace in the afterlife.

After Jesus came as the Messiah, Christians were born.

Now I dont have the answers to a lot of religious questions about Christianity, but this is just what I've read from the Bible:

Of course there were people that believed in God and his almighty power and miracles before Jesus was born and later killed. The Bible says that when Jesus rose from the dead, all the souls of people that believed in the almighty Lord were risen as well and went to Heaven.

I will do some more reseach and try to come back and answer more questions...

Christianity: the patch-up job of religion. Not only did they steal holidays from "pagan" religions, but they took the whole of the Jewish religious text and made it their own (with a few additions, of course). I could go on and on about it, but I have limited time, so I'll have to do it later.

Why weren't ancient people christian? Does that mean that christianity is a sham?

To be Christian you must believe that Jesus Christ was the Son of God when he came to the Earth. How could they be Christian when he hadn't even come yet. The predecessors of the Christians were the Jews.

Yeah, this is what I never got, one of the reasons I broke off from Christianity. If Jesus saved people and forgave their sins, what about the people that lived and died before Jesus was born? Were the Greeks just supposed to have the knowledge of God handed down from generation to generation or something?
