Hey,

Recently I went through some pretty major changes religion wise. As in, don't believe in God anymore, and I don't have a 'religion'.

I'm trying to find ways to subtly break it to my parents, without them totally flipping out. Pretty much all of my friends are upset with me because I don't believe in God. I don't understand why. They say I've changed so much and they're having a hard time 'coping'.

I grew up in a semi-strong Christian background, and just find it hard to believe it anymore.

Has anyone been through anything similar and could give some advice? Anything would help. Thanks.

klguddut, research the facts that are KNOWN to be true, and make your discision from there.

By saying that everything he says is "the truth", rugar is essentially telling everyone else (the people who don't hold his beliefs) that they're wrong.

Just as we have no call to say rugar's wrong, neither can he tell us we're wrong.

The thing that bothers me is how he says that his beliefs are truth with such conviction, even though he can never possibly back them up.

Where's all this hostility coming from towards Rugar? He's only doing what he thinks is right, and I think you should respect him for that. Even if, in your opinion, you think he is wrong in what he is doing. By calling him names, or making fun of him, you are doing no better than what you claim he is doing. Why is everyone bashing people for their beliefs? That's the worst possible thing to do.
