We all have differeing opinions about what holds priority in our day-to-day lives. I'm a Bible college student in Alaska and what comes first each day are communing with God and loving my wife. In my opinion, the things that hold priority in our lives are what we WORSHIP. But, WHAT TRUELY IS WORSHIP? (Your opinions please...)
Everything is a ritual. Going to church on sundays? Ritual. Singing songs in formation? Ritual. You don't have to have a circle to have a ritual.
I have to disagree with you. Worship is surrendering your all. True worship is never a ritual. A ritual is something one does over and over again.. yet it has no meaning. The only reason it is done is simply.. to do it, because it's the "religious thing to do"... blah blah..If worship is a "ritual".. then why do it? Why do something that has no meaning to you? Worshiping God is realizing your sin in relationship to His holiness. When seeing God's holiness and standing in awe of Him... one cannot help but surrender all and Worship Him.
Worship is giving Worth to something. For example, singing songs in church is worship. That is not the only way to worship God, though. Worship isn't a ritual... it's a LIFESTYLE. You can worship God by loving others. Serving in the community or on a missions trip. You can even life a life of worship on your day to day life. Go out of your way to put others ahead of yourself. Give God the glory for everything you do. Do everything to do the best of your ability for HIS glory alone. Not your's.
I think that worship is one going to a place and praying for 3 hours and then living the principals that are taught. and if your not going to live those principals then why are you going to church in the first place
If you want to do the fun stuff, you have to go through the hard stuff
I AM CRAZY ENOUGH TO BELIVE THAT WORSHIP IS A GREAT THING IN LIFE TODAY. IT IS TO ME A PERSONAL THING BETWEEN YOU AND GOD THAT NO MAN CAN BREAK.ITS WHEN U TAKE TIME TO LOVE ON GOD TELL HIM HOW WONDERFUL HE IS HOW MUCH U LOVE AND ADORE HIM HOW AWSOME HE IS WHAT U MEAN TO HIME AND WHAT HE MEANS TO U.AND I ASLO KNOW THAT ITS IN WORSHIP WHEN HE WILL SPEAK TO U AND ANSWER UR PRAYERS.SO WORSHIP IS A GOOD THING WHEN ITS REAL AND U MEAN IT FROM UR HEART GOD WILL SPEAK TO U
Worship is whatever you want it to be. A lot of people consider 'worship' to be going to a 'place of worship' and praying as a community, but that is because that is the only thing that they know and the only thing that they are comfortable with. Worship can be anything from just spending a minute to reflect and be grateful for something to a powerful moment where are you are just glad to be alive.
for me worship is a way of showing importance and value of a hing or person in one's life. some worship people, some wood, some cows, cats, and some flowers or the sun. paying tribute to a particular thing - that's it.
