Yeah that is true but it hasn't changed yet...therefore our pleadge still says one nation under God..

Oh, but by putting "One Nation... Indivisible" I felt it was so much more powerful than doing the whole "One Nation, Under God, Indivisible." That line doesn't have the power the one Dr Pepper choose did.

Eh...well this quote says otherwise, LDG. But then again, who am I to say what you really meant or not.

It is important to me as an American because to me it is like they are misquoting the pledge. I wouldn't care if under God is in it or not, but right now it is in it so right now we need to quote it correctly when they legally change then leave it out.

The original pledge (written in 1892) went as follows: I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.Much different than it is today.

LDG, why is it important for you that "Under God" be in the pledge? It wouldn't change anything if it wasn't!

Shade I copied it off of an email my mama sent me. And it is the point that it is our pledge now that says under God no one has changed it...yet. All they need to do is put something less controversal like the star spangle bander or just not do it at all.

Even if it was true, why does it matter? The original pledge didn't have the words "under God" in it. Should we boycott Francis Bellamy and any references to the pledge before 1954, too?

Nice catch, Ikki. I do wish it were true, if only so I could ask of the knee-jerk reactionary types, "Well, which do you love more? God or America?"
And then, as the books were told, Fina replied: "A can of worms, my dear friend? What has this to do with reason?"
