Huh. That's a kind of interesting artical. But some of the things I don't agree with, and the others that might be true hasn't shaken my faith. I believe more in what my heart tells me, then what another person who's against my faith is trying to force on me. For example. And it came to pass is not in the bible. Its something generally unique to the bom.

I just remembered the statistic from a study I saw a while back, although I don't remember specifically who did it, and therefore can't call it up. However, I think in the course of my rummaging around looking for it I stumbled upon a great website: affirmation.org. According to this site, 27% of Mormon homosexuals attempt suicide. It has some great articles on the matter. Obviously, the problem of faith-based persecution over sexual preference is not specific to Mormons alone; rather, it is a wide-spread problem affecting most branches of Christianity and several branches of Judaism. I think the reason the Mormons have a disproportionately higher homosexual suicide rate is because Mormons are, in general, more conservative than the general population. The show choir I'm part of is about half-Mormon, and...well...let's just say I'm the "bad boy" of the group for using terms like "crap" and "pissed off". I mean, YN doesn't even censor them. And that's saying something. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that the problem doesn't lie in Mormon theology, but in the conservative tendencies of Mormons in general.

ToeTrench: Even though you don't know me, the respect is appreciated. Disagreeing isn't a crime. EarthGoddess: How is it a lie? Aguagon: I didn't know that the gay suicide rate was dispaportinate. I personally, don't have any opening gay people in my ward, but there hasn't been any suicides either. How much of a difference between my church and others?

I must say, I find it odd that the Mormon religion takes heat from everyone. Its origins lie in a confused, impossible jumble of illogical events, but what religion's doesn't? And is the Book of Mormon really so much more far-fetched than the Bible? If I had to pick one problem I had with the Mormons, it would be the disproportionately large amount of suicides committed by gay Mormons (compared to homosexuals within the other Christian religions). It just drives me nuts when any religion tries to teach anyone that what they are is unacceptable.

Actually I have a comment. I have tons of respect for mormoms. Hell, I disagree with LOTS of what they have to say, but heck, gotta have respect. PEACE OUT
