The other day I was watching the history channel and they had a special on "the prophecies of the end of the world"

Apparently, there are records from the Myans, I Ching, Web-bot (a computerized bot that scans the entire interweb for key words on the end of the world) and other recources that declare the world will end in 2012.

Knowing what happened eight years ago with Y2K, do you believe this is significant by any means?

Exactly. It will be interesting to see what happens in Dec. 2012. I can imagine people running to the nearest supermarket and stacking up on spam and water just incase they survive the end of the world. Although interesting (and we're all sure there's a reason mother nature is forthwarning us) it's nothing to loose sleep over.

Or we're going to crash into another planet when our universe passes through/into another universe.

Or are planet is going to get too hot and the core will become a diamond. All of those are going to happen at about the same time.

i hope the world doesnt end for a few hundred years that way people will have a chance to make another planet hospitable

I honestly dont know that to think.
People thought the end of the world was in 2000
and we're 8 years past that. I also dont want to think that because I graduate in 2012!!!
