A completely ignorant question, but what exactly do you do in Bible college? I've a cousin who wants to go to the one in Puerto Rico and it's confusing me.

Korith, youthnoise is my life. I told him you were back. They know practically everything about this site (if they remember) except for my username. Where's ACC? Speaking of the Bible, we're discussing The Old Man and the Sea today and how Santiago was a Christ figure. I think it's bull****, but that's just me.

Hey Korith. I just wanted to say that my English Teacher asked if anyone knew what predestination was today, and thanks to you, I was able to answer the question.

Korith, I have done some research and found that alot of evidence points to the bible as having been changed by Alexander the Great, the Holy Roman Empire, Popes, and many other meddlers. What version of the bible is considered to be the most authentic version and why? I'm hoping that if you can't answer this question perhaps your professors might be knowledgeable on the topic, as their is alot of misinformation on the internet I'm sure.

Wow, your dad's heard of me? Lol. That's typicialy a bad thing, lol. Well, ACC is a VERY small campus, but that is really what attracted me to the place. All of our professors have 1 or more Ph.d's most of them are scholars, who write many of the text books we use in class and are used in colleges all over the country. It's a nice college. I think one day I'll be very proud to say I was accepted and educated there.

Celtic: I've heard both too. My Bible (NIV translation) says "Murder". But I don't think it really matters. "[Jesus said:] "You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother[b]will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, ‘Raca,’ is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell." -Matthew 5:21,22 Uptowngirl: Atlanta Christian College

Is it "Thou shall not kill" or "Thou shall not murder"? I've heard both and I find it rather interesting.

I believe in free will. Free Will says that it is the persons choice to believe in Christ's sacrifice or not. And not Go'd making them not believe.

That's what I always thought, ridiculous. A petty reason, but one of the ones I left the church. Another was the hypocrocy of the people who were supposed to be "witnessing." Some witnesses.

Well that is all there is to predestination, God in a sence makes people sin, and makes people reject God and go to hell. People who believe seem to think that there is some kind of salvation tag on some and not on others. It's really rediculace.

Predestination has to be harder to understand than that. My old church had a really weird way of making it sound really unfair.

Cain is the older brother of Abel.. They are sons of Adam and Eve. Cain was jealous of Abel because God favored Abel's sacrifice more than Cains, and this drove Cain to kill Abel. God them scorns Abel for Killing his brother when we was supposed to look after him and banishs him from his other family, and goes off to create his own. As far as the charge of "black africans" to be "enslaved by white people", it sounds a little... silly?

Cain killed Abel, so he was cursed, and his decendents became the black africans, so they can be enslaved by white people. That is the story they do not want you to hear
O of where dost thou hail, Celephanil, Celephanil? Why dost thou wander in Tengelwar great, why on the sea do you sail?

Predestination is the idea the God knows who is going to heaven and who is going to hell even before your created. I personally do not believe this. I cann't eccept god would create someone to go to hell. It is my believe that God wants everyone to come to forgiveness, and I think the Bible clearly states that.
