Why do people interpret the Bible so literally? People justify oppression and discrimination against homosexuals because "the Bible says its wrong" but they fail to take into consideration that the book was written 2000 years ago. Back then homosexuals weren't accepted and Christian beliefs wouldn't have spread if they were as ratical as to say 'accept homosexuals'. But look at the actually teachings of Jesus and how he accepted people regardless of cultural stigmitisms. Shouldn't we follow that example? -------- FreeCulture.org an international student movement for Free Speech, Free Software, and Free Culture

Just because the bible says homosexuality is wrong doesn't mean we should discriminate against homosexuals. A homosexual person is living in sin but so am I by having premarital sex, getting drunk, lying, and not tithing 10% of my income on a monthly basis. Christians should be tolerant, but being tolerant and enabling something are two different things. Other cultures that are non christian also had homosexuality but it was never embraced by the entire populace as right and correct. It was tolerated and ignored at best, because people are going to do what they are going to do. You didn't see ancient cultures marrying homosexuals either though, even though they were extremly tolerant.

Though I couldn't agree more with you, sadly, the people that this needs to reach are the ones that are too narrow-minded to listen.
