Who is Jesus?
Can someone tell me?
Greek and Hebrew alphabets don't have a "J" or a "J" sounding letter. So tell me, where did Jesus come into play?
Are you sure it's not Y'Shua? Or in English translations, Yeshua?
Yeah, I like that better. I can tell you this. A friend of mind did an exhaustive study on the origins of Jesus and the word "Lord." In actuality, Lord is another name for Baal, a pagan god worshipped in the early centuries, and before Yeshua was born.
Much like the Sabbath being changed from Saturday to Sunday, there are many things we Believers (or Christians as society calls them) have been led to believe, or have been told, that just have not been accurate...or more precisely, the things we have been told are complete lies and fallacies, designed to trick us and deceive us.
Go study. Researching will uncover many things...then again, those who go by the Catholic teachings like a Sunday Sabbath and the pagan holidays like Dec. 25 won't think anything of my little rants. You'll just keep beating your head into deception.

quote: But Saturnalia, (The Roman Festival of Saturn,) where Christmas comes from, is a TWELVE day festival cumulating on December 25
Am I talking about Saturnalia? No. And Christmas came from many things it seems, one of them being Christian. quote: But seriously, what didn't you understand?
It's not that he didn't understand, it's that he listens to no proof but his own or his religon's. Don't worry, northstar, whatever we say, he won't listen, cause God never said it.

But seriously, what didn't you understand? It is not as if I am speaking some archaeic language here. I tried to bring the Early Church to a...remedial level for certain people. *coughs*

northstar, you must be on to something. Your pagan posts don't mean anything to me. I receive revelations from the only One True God, and when I do, I publish them, either on here or on my Web site. Like this one, from good friend Pastor Mike Treis: http://ntimc.org/newswire.php?story_id=525It's a PDF, but it goes into meticulous detail on how we got "Jesus" and "Lord" into our modern-day translations. Jesus is basically a root word for Zeus, the myth god. Lord is another name for Baal, a pagan god. I am trying to correct myself when I pray, not to use the words "Jesus" and "Lord." CLick the link. It's got good info.

But Saturnalia, (The Roman Festival of Saturn,) where Christmas comes from, is a TWELVE day festival cumulating on December 25. JoeyDauben only made this topic so that he would not look bias toward Christians. I remember he said, in "Peace is not spelled I-S-L-A-M: quote: Look, I have gone against Churchianity as well, so why don't you all bring up those threads too. You make it sound as if I'm biased towards or against one religion.
...and suddenly, this thread appeared...

Finding evidence would take time and effort. God forbid that.

Typical Joey fashion, throw the ball in the other persons court to find the evidence to prove HIS idea. In other words Joey says the evidence is there but never says specifically where.

No, actually I believe that is Jesus as well. People have many differnet names for Jesus. "Y'Shua" in Hebrew means "Jesus" in English.

Lol. O, that made my day. But seriously, do you know where the word Sunday came from? It is literally the Day of the Sun-the day where the Roman sun God Helios was honored. It was thought be early church heads that it would be prudent for missionary activities that Jesus's sabbath replace the day of the Sun God, so the people would feel more at home. The early church...bent the rules...a lot... And where do you think all the church ideas came from? Divine intervention? Of course they came from pagan beliefs, they all did, from the Biblical flood, (Note Gilgamesh) the virgin Mary (note Isis,) to the divine conception (Zues's...activities amoung mortals) all came from stories from earlier cultures. The Christians were very uncreative early on, they even sank so low as to take supplies from temples to build churches.

Tabb, I agree with you, I was just asking who Jesus was, if he wasn't the Most One True Almighty God that we worship.
Something Roman Catholic smells here, and I think we'll find out soon...

People have been calling things that they have worshiped "Lord" since man could speak the English language. Just because the name of "Lord" has been around for centuries doens;t mean that Jesus isn't real. Trust me, he's real. and he wants to live in you.

Haha, Baal. Reminds me of that game Diablo 2. Baal is the name for Diablo's brother, the 'Lord of Destruction. Haha, thinking of the image they portrayed of Baal, and then Jesus, just makes me laugh. Hahaha. Jesus, Lord of Destruction! Lol.

I've always had some sort of belief that all religions are rooted in the same place... where we may never know...
