Question:
I have heard from a lot of people that they are offened by someone talking about their beliefs.
Why is it so offensive to them? Why must they complain about something like this? Are most people offended, or are the looking for attention? I'm going to go with the second answer there.
I'm a Christian and i know very well why I believe what I believe, because i've looked it up, and tried to find the answers to my questions. Most people never even do this, yet they are offended when i talk about Christianity by them, because it's imposing on their "own BELIEFS". To believe something means to : adhere to, to conform to, to obey, to rely upon. Do they really know why they believe what they believe? Why is it so offensive to them that even the word God is brought up. The wonderful Judicial system is now trying to get rid of the 10 commandments because it's not seperation of church and state, and here's the funny part: it says no where in the constitution that we need church and state. The only thing that is written in there states, that the Government isn't allowed to control the church, not the other way around. I believe that mainstream america is now trying to get rid of Christianity. Most non-christians that I have talked to have said this, "well don't you think as a Christian that you are neglecting the other religions such as Hinduism, or the Muslims?" Why are we Christians the one's who are despised the most? This is what i wonder. I'll leave the rest to you.

Choices:
Jeremiah 6:8 " The world takes no pleasure in the Word of God."
They are truly offended
They don't know why they are offended
they just want attention
The 1st 3rd and 4th answers

Bible-thumpers--and I'll put this in a way they'd understand--need to go to Hell.

Then they'd know how bad it is to go around telling people that.

Meanwhile... the people in their cars roll down their windows and yell for him to shut up and his people to leave... and there I am... everyday I take my time to get to know those I witness too, I research for hours the words I choose to teach on, I visit homes, I hand write several letters, I give money, and I offer all my time that people might be able to look at me and say about me, "He is a Christian."

And this man and his followers beat me to the chase when another angry person speeds away from that red light saying... "Those were Christians"

Hardly makes it seem worth it sometimes, that all I can spend day, weeks, months, years can be flaked away by a man and however long the light takes to change.

Wow, Korith. That was very well said. It's not Christians like you that I despise. It's the freak show on the corner that you're talking about. Someone that comes up to me, thumping their bible and telling me that I'm wrong and I'm going to burn in a firey torment... that is what makes me see red. You know that people will remember the bad before they remember the good, and that is what I think of when I think of Christianity.

"I am a Christian, in the only sense in which he wished anyone to be: sincerely attached to his doctrines in preference to all others, ascribing to himself every human excellence, and believing he never claimed any other." -Thomas Jefferson
