What's yours? Mine is 1Timothy 4:12. "Let no one look down on you because of your youth, but set an example for the believers in your speech, conduct, love, faith and purity."

Proverbs 20:9: Who can say: "I have kept my heart pure; I am clean and without sin." Psalm 16:1: Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge. Psalm 23:6: Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Let's see...others I have in my pink book: Everyone who exalts himself shall be humbled While He who humbles himself shall be exalted. Luke 18:9-14 (I think) I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. Phillippians 4:13 We walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7

I'm not much itno the bible, but this one just speaks to me: Exodus 23:11 But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thy oliveyard.
Cheated the way from fringe to elite. Clique of stylists, rounded illogic skipping a beat to a dead cert. By lheaving charges and bursting the abscess, with a forked toungue, bloated with courage and spewing self-importance. Drop your sights, aim lower, leave umblemished those with real power.

My first favorite bible verse is Luke 7:36-50. My second favorite one is the one I used as my signature. I've got more but I'll put them up here later.

So this is being revived because I'm lectoring tomorrow at mass and I really like the second reading, specifically the last verse: Indeed someone might say, "You have faith and I have works." Demonstrate your faith to me without works, and I will demonstrate my faith to you from my works. James 2:18

Hey, so ummm.....at the risk of starting another debate, I'd like to respond to comments about hypocritical Christians. Christians are sinners just like non-Christians. The only difference is, we've allowed Jesus to save us from our sin, and we've got God to help us triumph over sin while we're still on earth.
ANYWAY, on to the Bible verse topic. I can't pick one, but I'll pick one I was thinking a lot about today...Romans 8:38-39: "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
I was thinking about that...nothing good that we do will make God love us more than he already does, and no sin will make Him love us any less. His love is completely unconditional. How awesome is that?

that's actually the theme verse for my church's high school ministry, but anyways, i don't know exactly which is my favorite bible verse
Isaiah 30:21 "Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, 'This is the way, walk in it.'"

Proverbs 2:1-5 My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. This is the promise that my heart seeks, that if I indeed lay down everything to know God, I will.

People will use any excuse to argue. You could start an "I Love Puppies" thread and end up with an intense debate about US Foreign Policy in Cambodia post-Vietnam War. Anyway, I'll try to steer this back. If got two more: Psalm 143:6 I spread out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. And... John 4:18-21 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

True...I guess I'm just being sensitive about it since this is supposed to be about the Bible and not about Christians in general.

No thread in YN goes unruined. And everyone ruins thread. My "Most challenging thing you've ever done" turned into "Let's discuss the military".
