i think the main difference between christianity and other religions is that christians can have a direct relation with God as long as they've asked for forgiveness. whereas (i hope i don't offend anyone) catholiccs go through lotsa repenting, and muslims fast and go through lotsa prayer stuff
Isaiah 30:21 "Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, 'This is the way, walk in it.'"

Yeah, as an over-thinker who doubts every faith, I can say I'd rather strongly believe in one thing, because I wouldn't get so emotionally-mentally tired.

well congradulations guys on agreeing about something. Christianity means alot of differnt things to differnt ppl. When its seen for the truth that it is it proves to be the only thing worth living for. I've noticed something about Christian morals though, ppl don't have to be taught the Bible to Understand the difference between right and wrong. The reason we disagree so much is because if we reject the Bible then we have denied ourselves the ONLY true moral standard and when we take that away all of a sudden the line between right and wrong becomes indistinguishable. The same basic morals stay in place though unless we allow the world to so distort our consience that we refuse to see truth anymore and that's how relativism has become the poison that it is today. But "good moral ppl" still acknowledge thier conscience and do their best to distinguish between right and wrong. This is just one way that the Bible makes obvious sense even today.

Sure, I think the bible has plenty of contradictions, but it has good stories about morality, even though I don't need the bible to tell me what's "right" and "wrong". I also, think it's cool that some Christians have such strong faith... even to the point that they'll argue with non-Christians til they're blue in the face.

I'm glad you (especially you) started this thread, Celtic. It seems like so many people are only willing to look at "contradictions" and what they see as bad. The basic morals of Christianity are very good. And the stories of miracles give people hope. There are several ways that you can apply things from Christianity and the Bible to your every day life, even if you don't accept God. It's kind of like what ohio is saying in her "Even if God Doesn't Exist Thread"---even if He doesn't exist, the basic morals and everything that you get from Christianity are worthwhile.
