Santería is an Afro-Caribbean form of witchcraft, a blend of Catholicism saints (thus the name "Santería" from "santo" meaning saint) and African practices and gods. It's really confusing and has never had any form of actual organized text or group, unlike say Wicca or Christianty, thus ensuring that it remains confusing different throughout the Caribbean. Cuban Santería, for example, isn't the same as Puerto Rican Santería.

I used to carry a little crystal bottle necklace thing with some herbs in it. It's a santera thing.

I used to carry around a cross, but then I felt guilty when I realised I didn't really belive in what I was carrying around. I was in my 'odd' stage and it made me feel 'clean' to have it on my person.

My friend once brought and actual rabbit's foot to school. It didn't work but that's just because he didn't bother trying to study either.

Aha! Just like Ouija boards, then. I used to carry around a little sterling silver pocket cross (this was before my break with Christianity) as a good luck charm of sorts. Then I took it out when bad things kept happening to me. Quite odd, really. But yeah, you can do weird things to yourself simply by believing it will work. You can easily trick your mind into thinking whatever you want. Spells, rabbits feet, lucky left sock, whatever. Simple objects (or ideas in the case of spells) to boost your confidence. And now I'm rambling.

Actually, Wicca stuff is a psychological thing. Like the spells are used because it boosts you confidence and if you BELIEVE it will work. Like I was failing math but I used this thingy and it worked. Now if I get a fifteen on my final, I'll pass math with an 85 average. It worked for my friend too. But we both expected to fail then we just used a purple bag with rosemary and because it's really just a good luck charm in a way. You think it will work and you try harder to make it work. quote: Oujia boards are fake **** yeah!

Oujia boards are fake. They're not fueled by spirits trying to get a message out, they work because of the user's own sub-conscious mind. In other words, the board says what you want it to say. Wiccans are, for the most part, annoying. Some have the right idea, but most are just floundering around trying to "fit in" to some religion or another and/or want to have "magic". I don't know much about Satanism (or is it satanism?), so I can't bash it. But those are just my opinions on those subjects.

That was mean, star. That being said, their are other posts (especially in this forum) about the subjects you asked about. Just search for them and I'm sure you can find some people to discuss this with.

You made this thread because why? What made you think that this thread was a necessary asset to this site? Other than that, could you be any moronic?
I have not yet reached my goal, and I am not perfect. But Christ has taken hold of me. So I keep on running and struggling to take hold of the prize. My friends, I don't feel that I have already arrived. But I forget what is behind, and I struggle for wha
