Rev. 22:13 "I am the Alpha & the Omega, the First & the Last, the Beginning & the End." the person speaking is Jesus Christ. you learn that by reading the context.

JC, God, Yahweh and Allah are all the same person so I don't understand the poll
"The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done"."

Well, this poll is a little one sided, isn't it? I only say that because technically Jesus, God and YWHW are the same God. And possibly Allah. So either God is a monotheistic (sp?) God, there is no God, or there is an 'other'. I see. I agree with clpo about revelations, but this needs to be applied to all of the Bible, not just to revelations. John, in particular, features such in between the line meaning.
Only simple and quiet words will ripen of themselves. For a whirlwind does not last a whole morning, nor does a sudden shower last the entire day.

Revelation is an interesting book. You learn quite quickly while reading it not to take everything it says at face value. That book is thick with hidden, between-the-lines meanings.
The more you know, the less you don't know.
