otherkinalliance.org explains this phenomenon as follows. quote: Otherkin: are a group and/or subculture of people, primarily based online, who feel that some part of them in some way is not human. There are many explanations within the community as to how this is possible, some of them being spiritual, mental, social, or even genetic. There are many different types of kin- some identify with creatures or beings of mythology and legend, such as Elves, Faeries, Unicorns, ect… while others associate themselves more with animals, plants or other forces/elements/concepts of nature/existence. The term ‘Otherkin’ can also be interchangeable with the term “other soul-ed” and perhaps the second term is the most appropriate, although it is used less often. Within the Otherkin community itself is many sub-groups, such as the vampiric and therianthropic communities, although the communities themselves don’t always agree on this. Otherkin are not to be confused with Furries and Furry fandom.

If you ask my opinion, I think they all need to invest in very good psychiatrists. (Yes, I'm being obtuse. Humor me.)

As was I, which is why there's conflict with the general belief of things.

quote: Though if they fell after humans were created, then the Morning star was still an angel then, and where's the serpent in the garden? Heh. Little bit of conflict, there.
Hm, I was under the impression that they had fallen before humans were created. I could be wrong.

Yeah, they were demons ( the angel-humans ). Goliath was one of them. That's one of the theories of why most of the angels Fell. Though if they fell after humans were created, then the Morning star was still an angel then, and where's the serpent in the garden? Heh. Little bit of conflict, there.

I went to that website and thought about actually joining so that I could learn more about from people who think they are otherkin or know more about it. I think it's an interesting subject to discuss. This reminds me of when the Bible says that some angels came to Earth, got sexually involved with woman and gave birth to really tall and strong people.I think everyone was afraid of them. Hmm...have any of you read about that part of the Bible?

Seriously, people. I want your opinions. This isn't really a new thing in the world and we don't even know anything about it. We should, at the very least, learn about it.

Lindsbian, consider this. This world has religous history, that deals with fae, angels, demons, devils, shadow creatures, dragons. If they existed in one time, how is it impossible for them incarnate into a human body? Also, I agree with superchuck, how do you know the mind of the Gods? I mean, the bible itself confirms that angels come to earth in the guise of humans. Why then and not now?

Everbody is intitled to their own beleifs. Who are you to say that your "God" is indeed real? There are many Gods out there.

I don't think science can have any bearing on this, unless they claim to be physically that way. It's the soul we're talking about. Science hasn't been able to prove that yet.

Well, I'm not sure. Scientifically Is it plausable that they are not intirely human and are part mythical being? No not really. But, everybody is intitled to beleive in something, for all we know it might be true. I might be like part dragon or something. I dunno.
