From what I've heard, scientology is a cult religion created entirely to drain money from its followers. It's extremely secretive as well.

I don't want to sound like a tabloid, but from the articles I've seen on scientology, it's based on a totally nonsensical story about an alien.

I think the basic belief is that man is an immortal spirit..that you come to some higher awareness by finding the truth around you. Some drabble. It was founded by sci-fi writer L. Ron Hubbard in the 50's, I think.
