My parents never took me to church, but my grandparents are very religious and influenced me a lot as a little girl. However, now that I'm getting older, I'm starting to ask myself a lot of questions that I have no answer to, and am starting to doubt my religious beliefs. I'm not leaning one way or the other, because I have not yet finished reading the bible so it wouldn't be fair to base on opinion yet, but I guess my real question is what evidence does the bible have against evolution? What does the bible say to validate creationism? What do evolutionists say about the bible? Only adding to my skepticism is the fact that the bible seems to contradict itself, and can be interpreted in different ways. I desparately want to believe in the Lord, but it would be wrong to say I am a true Christian until I am free of any doubts. If there's anyone in a similar position, or someone who could offer me some information, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

To doubt your faith is to become stronger in it. Everyone doubts. There will be no time in your life that is without doubt.

I have gone threw a time of change in my own biblical beliefs about creation. Because of this I have recently read several books on this Topic. One of the best books that I can recommend for you is The Genesis Question. This book is written by Hugh Ross and goes into how the Biblical account of creation matches Modern science. You don't need to be Christian to believe in and worship God.

The Bible never really says point blank, one way or the other on Evolution, or Creationism. There are a couple of ways to look at the issue. 1) Did God have used Evolution as a tool? Well, of course he COULD have. Now whether he did? Who knows these things? I honestly do not see it as a real, "faith stirring" question. He did, he didn't... why does it really matter? I personally believe in intelligent design. I feel to say that human beings were a product of chance, is a little naive. However, it is possible. Almost anything is if you can imagine it. Take for example a sign on the side of a fall in Whales. I don't remember exactly what it said but it was something like, "The waves welcome you to Whales." The sign was just a bunch of rocks used to form the words in knoll. Now it could be argued that the words just formed themselves there... earthquakes, falling rocks, clumsy goats... what have you. Although I think anyone who sees the sign can see intelligence in its creation. For humans to exist on this one planet, among the billions of planets and galaxies. And for this planet to be in exact right spot with the perfect atmosphere and seasons to support our needs. To say that is just happenstance, is the equivalent to a pocket watch factory exploding and all the tiny little pieces of pocket watches go flying into the air and in one spot, all the right piece fall into place to create a perfectly functional pocket watch...
