Some of us have no souls.

I disagree. I think they just have a different point of view than us, that's all.

People who dont believe in God or in anyone higher than us, human beings, are probably just lost souls. And oh, yeah, you may laugh at anyone who talks about God all day long but to me, i find that inspiring. At least those kind of people dont talk about violence or a lot of curse words which our world is experiencing now and frankly, also, which our world doesnt need to top all of the violence and evil that has been happening all over the world these days.

Saved IS a good movie... It's NOT rated 'R' though. It's only PG-13, maybe even PG... Not sure. You're talking about the movie where the girl gets pregnant attempting to cure her boyfriend, right?

There's a movie called Saved. Anyone seen it? Well worth the watch. It's rated R, so lots of you might not be able to watch it, but it's really good. It's not what I'd consider to be bad really, and I think I'd let a mature teen watch it if I were a parent. It pokes fun at Christianity, but it actually has a good moral ending... kind of. lol It's kind of along the lines of this discussion, so that's why I mentioned it.

None at the moment. I think half of YN believes you are pretending to be multiple persons. No offense. Just saying.

I believe northstar meant that when you said
"Nope, I think you're the only one! "
,that it was out of character.

I am a "newbie" here, so I am going to say it. I. Am. Not. A. Christian. There.
I have read soooo many posts with people arguing about religion. You are not going to convince non-Christians to believe, just like you aren't going to convince Christians to give up their beliefs!
My small town school is 97% Fundamentalist Christian, so coming here and reading all of your posts is like a breath of fresh air. I go to a Unitarian Universalist church, and people always gape at me, wide eyed, when I tell them I'm not a Christian. Then they try to save me for a few months, before finally giving up and moving on to someone else.
No one is going to change my mind about religion, no matter how hard they try. I think that instead of people posting on this website for spiritual help, they should talk to their parents or local places of worship.

I assume you're referring to jazzey saying arguments on the existance of God are boring are then inviting such an argument. Yeah, it's pretty hypocritical. But it's jazzey, so you're supposed to overlook it.
Um,... I hate hypocrites. lol That was a little hypocritical wasn't it? Oops. I like the point that Aguagon made though because it's so true. That's what I was trying to say, but you said it so much better. My parents are die hard Christians and they really really worry about my spirituallity with God, but I worry about how they go overboard with religion. We will never ever come to an agreement on it becuase they think I'm doomed and I think they are maybe a little brainwashed.

Yeah, we're getting nowhere, but I don't think that's gonna stop us from arguing. As some brilliant political pundit whose name I can't remember recently said, the religious and the non-religious are living in seperate realities. And that's true. Trying to convince a religious person that God doesn't exist is like trying to convince someone that if they put their hand in a fire, it won't burn them. They won't hear of it; they're not even going to consider it. Basically, I think what the non-religious hear when being preached to is "blah blah Jesus blah savior blah Christ blah God blah blah God blah Christ blah savior blah blah blah," while the religious people, when being asked to look at God's existance from a logical point of view, hear "I'm an unsaved heathen I'm an unsaved heathen I'm an unsaved heathen." And really, nothing is gonna change that. Religious people are brought up to believe a certain way, and the idea of God is just so all-encompassing and important to them that I don't think many would renounce their religion if their life depended on it. So, the Spirituality forum is bound to remain pointless and redundant. But that doesn't mean I'll be staying away from it. quote: Originally posted by Druid: Does anyone else find this thread to be slightly, oh, ever so slightly, hypocritical?

And then, as the books were told, Fina replied: "A can of worms, my dear friend? What has this to do with reason?"

BZZZZZT. Wrong answer. By the way, quit ruining every thread with your lame "smart-***" comments. Try actually contributing something to a discussion for once. You might find it a rewarding experience.
