In a truly Christian marriage, the woman should be submissive to the husband. That is the role proscribed Biblically.

The talk of "independent streaks" and all of that is nice in a non-Biblical marriage or point of view, but in a relationship where God is the central focus, the woman should be eager to submit to the husband.

This of course does not mean that men should beat women and women should stay with them ...not at all.

If he is a rabbi, how come he made a comment like that?? If he is a rabbi, he shouldnt doubt God's word... I think God's word is never funny. But yeah, i have often wondered about that myself, though i know that God made woman out of the man's rib to show that even if man is considered superior, the woman could still be superior since she was made out of the man's rib. It goes to show that man and woman should work hand in hand and that all of us are equal.
