So I am Jewish. My family is very religious, we go to temple all the time, my dad is the unofficial canter of the synagogue, and I'm really involved. And I want to care about God, I truly do, but I just have so many doubts. I need to believe that there is a God and there is a heaven but sometimes it all just seems so unrealistic. I wish that there was some kind of explanation. I feel so guilty that I want proof that God really exists. I feel like I should just accept it and not question it but I cant seem to shake these feelings of doubt. Is it OK to believe, but question those beliefs at the same time???

I'd even argue that when it comes to theological beliefs, a healthy dose of Agnosticism is necessary for sanity.

to question or doubt is perfectly human.. coz all we want is the surety of a thing especially when it comes to the surety of our salvation. faith must a basis too.. we humans naturally just don;t want to like to believe in any thing without basis. we simply just don't want to be fooled or our time wasted. but of course there's no harm in trying the religion or the leader of that religion if he can answer your doubts.

Blind faith helps no one. In order to be truly happy, you need to understand your beliefs and why you believe such things. If your answer doesn't satisfy you, you simply find something else to believe in. No matter what anyone tells you, there is absolutely nothing wrong with questioning things. To question is to be human. And yeah, I basically repeated what everyone else said.

It's always healthy to question what you believe. If you don't or if you can't, you can't grow in whatever you have faith in, and if, in those questionings, it doesn't measure up, maybe that religon isn't right for you. Remember, there's not only one right religon; they all have parts of the truth. If what you believe doesn't feel right, find something that does.
