No, that's not what I'm saying. I'm not in the business of telling people what to believe. I just said that while Revelation is interesting, it's not necessarily true. It could be, but we don't know that for sure. I don't think it is, but that's merely my opinion. You're perfectly entitled to your own view of the issue.

clpo - are you trying to tell me that what I believe isn't true? If you are, please don't even go there, I'm not up for a debate right now. Infact, I'm trying to steer away from those kinds of things because at the moment I don't have the energy, nor the time, to try to deal with that. Also, it's my opinion - not yours. So, please...leave it alone.

Those who believe that the armageddon will happen sort of annoy me. I'm not exactly sure, but in Revelations, i think it says that all the believers of God and Jesus will be transported to heaven and that the sinners will be left on earth to suffer the punishment of being left behind when Satan, Lucifer, Beelzebulb, etc. comes to power, and that him coming to power will turn the world into something like a version of hell on earth, literally. Don't qoute me on that, I'm not exactly sure. I haven't been a Protestant since I was 12. Anyhow, back to my original point. As you can see, all the devout religious people will be spared while the rest are punished. This seems a LITTLE too convenient to me. Why is it that the devout ones, who are usually of the working class, the ones who are spared, while the supposedly 'evil' ones, who are usually the more successful people who've worked hard all their lives but supposedly lost their morals, the ones who are punished? It's because the persecuted workers feel that even if they can't get back at their bosses in this life, they'll get them in a 'second life' that their 'god' has granted them. Here's one of my favorite qoutes: Religion is the opiate of the masses -Karl Marx I'm sure that i don't have to explain what that quote means, so i won't. BY THE WAY: Please note that I'm referring to all succesful humans in the world. I now that their are some extremely devout religious humans on this planet that have remained good human beings all their lives, so the previous doesn't apply to them.

Interesting doesn't mean true. And yes, DrS, there is the distinct possibility the world could end prematurely, but I highly doubt it will be anything like Revelation tells us, if that is what the original poster was referring to.

Well, if you're referring to the biblical sense, I would suggest reading all of Revelations. That's some interesting stuff.

Its a myth.
The original draft of The Lord of the Rings featured Chuck Norris instead of Frodo Baggins. It was only 5 pages long, as Chuck roundhouse-kicked Sauron's ass halfway through the first chapter.

Just kidding. The world's not going to end for another few billion years.
Depends on what you mean by end of the world clpo. We could see a massive destablizing shift in political structure, asterioid impact, nuclear war, rapid climate shift, etc. These could throw the Earth into chaos and make everyday life totally unrecognisable to what you see today, and probably lead to the deaths of a few billion people, in the process, ha. Sounds pretty apocolyptic. And then of course there's the possibility that maybe, just maybe, there is some supernatural element to it. If we make it past 2012 or so then I'll breathe easy for a while, ha.

The end of the world. Well, job done.
Only simple and quiet words will ripen of themselves. For a whirlwind does not last a whole morning, nor does a sudden shower last the entire day.
