My question is why can the guys get away with wearing their pants around their ankles but girls cant wear low cut shirts or shorter shorts. Now I'm not saying skimpy booty shorts, I'm talking about shorts that still cover everything. I dont understand this! It's SO aggravating. If I wear a low cut shirt and a teacher says I'm out of dress code. I immediately point to the closest guy whose butt is hanging out of their pants and say so is he. Am I the only one who feels this way? Tell me what you guys think.

alrighty here's how I see it. You are only going to be in high school for 4 years and then after those 4 years you can wear whatever you'd like. so how about instead of trying to change things that really don't matter in the grand scheme of the universe and try to do something that will better mankind in someway. peachy.

My school doesnt really care, so I'm sorry. One of my friends did get in trouble for wearing a bandana around his neck. Our princepal was like "I understand this is proally a fashion thing, and this isnt racist (my friends blcak), but uh. take it off." My schools weird.

It's pretty sad. I am a junior in high school. Our school dress code is not strict at all. I think the authorities realized that when we got into the high school we payed less attention to one anothers clothing, and payed more attention to socialization and class. But in the 8th and 9th grade thye were very strict. Countless times a day did i see my fellow classmates (including i) be pulled into the office and they would pull our pants up to our belly buttons and then put a zip tie on our belt loops so tight it required a pair of scissors to get off. They were also very strict on the girls dressing too. Making them come into the office and change into an ugly school shirt most likely purchased from the DI.

Most high-schools have plenty of silly dress code rules. But guess what? You only have to be "subjected" to them for four years. And then if you go to college where there are no such rules, you get to see the true results of people making their own clothing choices. And maybe you won't like it so much. I personally don't like to see stranger's butts in the hot summer but that's what you get in college. True, I enjoy being able to wear what I want but while I usually choose responsibly, so many people don't and I think that's why high-schools have dress codes in the first place. They want to try to teach you what is appropriate and what isn't before they release you into the real world where there are no longer rules about the dress code. So suck it up. There are a lot more injustices than a simple dress code.

i just think thats the way the 'free' world works. guys do certain things and girls do certain things. and if you complain everyone looks at you funny.
