I recieved a letter in the mail from a corporation called Edifi asking me to come to an interview free of charge because I had been selected as some one in my area to recieve finacial aid for college. First of all- it was addressed to my fake penname for on the internet and my writing.so I suspected something.when I looked on the internet I found out it was a scam. So don't go if they contacted you. They'll just try to get 800 bucks out of you at the end of the meeting.

In August of last year, my parents received a letter about this company EDIFI. I have been reading this post and i told my parents that they were not good. My parents did not listened to me. At first they never called us or anything. My mother started to get worried. She called the company for a refund and they told her it was too late. My mother had no choice to send the informations they wanted. They did an interview over the phone. To make the story short, they proved me wrong. I got in to Union College. WHen i received my award letter, my counselor there told me to fax it to him. i did that and they wrote an appeal letter for my mother to mail to the school. The school i wanted to go to send me a revised financial aid award with an extra $12,000 for the year. My parents are so happy. the company worked for me......my parents will renew with them next for next year. Is EDIFI a SCAM? to my opinion NO

Edifi does help parents not willing or able to fill out confusing government forms. Those that scream of a scam are probably use to getting food stamp and free housing by "just showing up." Life isn't about just showing up. You must be proactive. I have an accountant do my taxes and he DOES NOT call me throughout the year to measure my level of happiness, I have to call him. I'm sure if you use H & R Block, they don't call you, you call them. That's how a service company works. Edifi does complete your forms but you must first send them the necessary information (which is asked of you when you attend the seminar). each family has the opportunity to leave after the FREE SEMINAR, so don't blame others when you willfully sign your name 6 times on the dotted line. You chose to do that! Life isn't about getting things for free. There is a price for everything and for those mooching off the system, your services aren't free either, we taxpayers are paying for your life. If you want a better life for your child, they must go to college and Edifi can and does help with this process. Just be proactive and you'll be amazed at the help you will receive.

my mother chose to pay this small fee to fill out the forms that would of confused the hell out of her then to pay tens of thousands of dollars for my education. people need to look at the long term effects. NOTHING IS FREE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And he is going to college to do better than me in life. I honestly dont like paper work and I know how the government can confuse people with the legal wording of its paperwork. And I feel like if I can pay someone whose done this before then it should be done right versus me not knowing what they are asking for half the time. I feel like I would rather pay someone to do this so that my son has a better chance than if I did it and made a mistake and he had no chance. So I feel I have done my best for him.

Wow, I'm surpised to see so many unfavorable comments. I have been extremely happy with Edifi's results. My daughter is a Junior at a private college in NC and Edifi did a great job of making sure she was granted all the scholorships and grants possible. Yes, we paid $800 when she was a junior in high school for the service, but it has provided more than $12,000 yearly in additional funds for her education.

I guess it just goes to prove. You have to do your research. Good Luck!

wow, really? Because every school counselor I have ever talked to, college and high school, has said: "If they ask for money, don't do it."

Scholarship and grant committees are supposed to be not-for-profit...

I haven't used Edifi, but that's because as soon as they said "$$$" I was out the door.

Okay people did you forget were you live. There is a price to everything in the United States. If you want things done right by professionals you will always have to pay. They took care of everything for me. I have tried dealing with colleges by myself and the make you jump through hoops if you want anything. Edifi took care of all that. They called the school and handled any financial problems i might of had. One less thing I had to deal with. I was also contact when a new grant was available and they signed me up. If it weren't for edifi i would be receiving half of what I get now. You cant talk crap about something you have never tried. Your mad they charge. Your a joke. If you dont like people charging for services I recommend you try another county.

EDIFI IS A SCAM! You shouldn't have to pay to get help. All the resources they offer can actually be given FREE! I've been dealing with them for 3 years now, trying to get my money back (more than $1,000). They are just plain rude! One represntative just started yelling at me when I asked what my alternatives were to getting my money back. I'm a second year at a four year university, first generation! I did it on my own with no help from them.

So think twice before getting their help! IT IS A SCAM STAY AWAY, ignore any mail you recieve from them. I'm still trying to get my money back for this stupid mistake I made three years ago, don't do it too!

I really want to sue them but I need others who are in the same boat. Unfortunately they're doing this all over the U.S.!

With all do respect I'm currently in the Edifi program and they have kept up with everyting they promised in the beginning. They have sent me high school prep books each year of high school. They have helped me with online prep for the ACT and they have completed what they promised to see that I get the best financial aid as possible. It's not true that they are just a company trying to scam people. They are a good source with the better business bureau with a very respectable reputation.

Have you even read the BBB profile for Edifi? I guess not...

Any organization that talks negatively about another ogranization should not be heard at all and that is exactly what EDIFI does. My friend signed up for Edifi and it is so unfortunate because they talked bad about more reputable organizations and they didn't do half of what other organizations do for kids now a days in finding the funding, helping with their careers, and getting students on the right track. She hasn't received a call since she joined the program. How very unfortunate for her now. Don't go to Edifi. There are much more repuatable organization that are honest and do what they actually say they are going to do. I
