What I obviously meant was that the human is a very complicated entity. Equality doesn't exist. Each and every human is different. But, each race collectively differs from the others in certain ways. The whole "there are more differences between whites than there is between whites and blacks" is bullsh*t, plain and simple. Sure, there are more differences, but they aren't as significant. Like I have said before, anthropologists can determine the race of an individual just by skeletal structure. This is just one of many racial differences. "We're all the same inside, skin color is the only thing that differs" is just another malicious fabrication. I am half black. I totally agree with Linkin Park girl88. I don't have respect for my body. And just because i'm black doesn't mean i have to like rap music. I love linkin park, heavy metal and mosh pitting. It's my favorite thing to do. Just like her I also have a 4.0. And yes i do believe the media has controled peoples views on how to "Act black" by listening to rap music. And then there's the "Act white" where you listen to rock, mosh pit, and do extreme sports. Well, i'm a girl, half black, and i love BMX racing, and agressive in-line. At school I am also considered a punker. I love cutting and getting high off of wite out. And i'm black. Now what.

Trust me, I'm defnintely not "mixed up." It's nice to hear that there are black people in this country like yourself, but the fact of the matter is that mosts blacks are not like you. You are a minority within your race. Crime statistics alone prove this. Like I have said before, blacks are 12% of the U.S. population, yet constitute a majority of prison populations. I don't have these preconceived notions of blacks as you assume I do. I didn't get my opinions from the TV or the movies. I have met plenty of black people, and I don't like most of them. Most of them are, in fact, "gangsta"-like individuals with respect for nothing.

Ok, so after reading part of the first guy's post, and then the person cursing him out, I got bored. Sorry, I have ADHD. Anyway, this is how our society is. Well, part of it. Or some percent that might make a difference. So, two days ago (yes, i'm very exact on these things) I was thinking about clothing. Why is it that when "black" girls wear tight clothes and such they are called "ghetto" and when a "white girl" wears it she is a "****"? I don't understand society. When I see a person, I see a new mind that has the best opinions in the world. If you think about it, it would be completely mind boggling to have someone else's point of view, even for a day because all the things you believe in could be turned upside down. Also, I hate how testing in school has the bubble for "ethnicity." The government, or some organization keeps track of how well students do based upon their race because they want to know how well resources and education is in places. Also, they move kids around into different schools to try to make communities and people more "interratial." I can't believe that there are people out there that think we make friends strictly based upon race.

To "act black" or to "act White" is to associate oneself with the cultures of White/black people. If someone listens to Scottish music, wears Scottish clothing, and speaks with Scottish accent and slang, people are going to say that someone is acting Scottish even though not all Scottish people listen to that music or talk that way. It is not that hard to understand. To say someone is "acting White" is to say they are embracing the cultures of the White races instead of that of their own. Not all White people embrace all White cultures, not all black people embrace all black culture.

I'm not saying that if you're white, you can't rap, or say slang words, not that. I'm white. I have friends who just say they act "ghetto". Do they even know what ghetto means? Some ask me how the hell I know if I myself am white. I've lived in variety of places, so I do have a better idea than most of the people in my school.

I'm white, and I am not influenced into guilt by MTV or anything of the sort. Why should I be? I don't care if people I hang with are white, black, green, purple, polka-dotted, whatever. They're people with different backgrounds. So I guess it's not really right to say one's trying to act "black", because as already mentioned, not all black people are the same. I'm white, and I LOVE rap. The type of music people listen to doesn't show anything. I was talking about people who are actual posers. A certain wanna-be gangster
didn't even know what "ice" meant, even though he used it three times while talking. That kind of **** annoys me.

well at my school its just acting "ghetto"(there is no ghetto in my town. though my town isn't rich, it is intillectual-a college town-and definately not poor) there are guys who i've known since kindergarten, 1st, 2nd grade who suddenly wear the baggy pants, do drugs, don't do their homework, and talk like they're "ghetto" (yo, man. i dont get this **it. wat the **** is up with this? yo, you goin to the mall 2night? *etc,etc,etc,* ~ all in a very dreary, blurry, voice, like they're stoned. well they probly are.)
so that's how people act ghetto
only the guys tho, the girls are mostly "normal"
