The pain from the cut takes away the pain of the problems and stress. that is the best that i know how to explain it. i have never cut but i knew someone who said they do, i tried to help them the best i can but the best help would come from an adult. i suggest you help her talk to someone like a counselor or therapist. cutting is a serious problem. hope this helps

Okay, to emphasize the reply I made about cutting because some people can't seem to understand plain english....
Cutting to a Cutter seems better. I THOUGHT I felt better til I realized I was just hurting people around me for nothing. Hurting yourself feels better than anything to a cutter. Maybe people that get confused shouldn't insult other people's replies when they don't even know what it's like....

i can completely relate, and i know exactly what shes talking about. if youre really worried about her, the best thing to do is be there for her when she needs it most, and if you suspect shes having a bad day, then as a friend, comfort her the best way you can. You probably already do that, but just in case... If i talk to someone, like my mom or a really good friend, i usually dont feel like doing it as much before i go to bed and can shake off the feeling. i'll most likely go to sleep then. I'll pray for your friend. God Bless, *~Collielvr~*

Okay, first you say it made things better, and then you say it only causes more pain. Which one is the truth?

quote: the traumas of a cutter and what went through my mind
trauma? what the **** are you talking about? cutting isnt trauma, its relief. quote: , when my boyfriend broke up with me, I tried it and I felt a lot better.
see? you brought it upon yourself! some things you dont bring upon yourself, some things just happen to you and are out of your ******* control. thats a stupid reason to cut. some arent. quote: Don't Cut! It just causes more pain than whats already there!
lies. maybe for stupid problems like yours, but for some people, its better, not worse. [This message was edited by YNLissa on October 27, 2003 at 05:55 AM.]

okay, my ex best friend cuts...she said it helps you take out anger that builds up. Well, when my boyfriend broke up with me, I tried it and I felt a lot better. One problem, everyone in school was calling me a freak and a suicidal maniac. I realized that cutting doesn't make emotional damage go away because of the fact that you are physically damaging yourself...I realized that I was twice as hurt...mentally and physically and I never ever held a knife or a tack to my arms and legs again! Don't Cut! It just causes more pain than whats already there!
