How do you feel about PDA's? Does your school allow them? My school says the most public affection we are allowed to show is hugging and handholding (although i've seen some repeat offenders!). I think that the P in PDA needs to be changed to Private, not Public, because I think that people should keep their love for their boyfriend/girlfriend out of everyone else's face. I don't mind if you hug or hold hands, I just don't want to see someone making out in front of the whole world. And I think they should have a little more pride (doing that stuff in public can get you a bad reputation).

It is gross. It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't look like they were about to swallow each other. And it is puppy love. It's not gonna last forever.

when teachers see making out then you usually get yelled at at my school.

hmmm .. i dnt mind but there is none of that really going on in my skwl .. every1 lykez to keep there business on the low but i aint gona say that i agree with every1 coz i show my feelings in public [in the past] && if they dont do it then .. then where will they because there are always people around .. some people dnt like it because they cannot get the person they lyke to lyke them back to show them a certain level of effection .. It is one of my pet-peeves. Like in my school you will see couples kissing in stair cases, at their lockers and I come from a school with about 400 students! And like teachers don't say nothing, some teachers do but most of them don't care! They should keep their love life on the down low, because its your love life not the WORLDS !

Having to see PDA in the hallways at school is one of my greatest pet-peeves. I know it is hypocritical because I am so pro self-expression, but I HATE to see any other people kissing and touching and...UGH! It really makes me sick. I think that it should be limited in schools, but not in the public. When it comes down to it, how people exhibit PDA will determine the way I feel about them personally. It's up to them how they want to be percieved. As far as legally, though, I don't think there should be anything done about PDA. It's just gross, but that's an opinion, and nobody's getting hurt.

Me Personally agree with standUp because i really wouldn't like to see people making out in the hallway ... ya people or should i say couples would want to .. but, school isn't the place for it ... i would understand holding hands and just a quick tap kiss wouldn't matter like really who would want to see people kissing and looking like they about to have sex like thats very disrespectful to other students that want to learn in school ...

I think it's ok for couples to be affectionate... but toucy feely and face sucking is for private time. On certain occasions I've seen couples making out in the hallways; teachers are just to withdrawn to bother saying anything.

I don't have anything against hugging or kissing in school other than the fact that the people who do it end up blocking my school's narrow hallways.

I don't think boys and girls should be seperated in schools. Yes, school is for understanding subjects such as English, math, and so on, but isn't school also a place where kids learn how to develop socially? How can kids develop themselves in conversation with other people if the opposite sex isn't even in the school? It'd be silly for boys and girls to be seperated; it's just a bad excuse by the schools to make them feel better about themselves if you ask me, while we're forced to see the opposite sex at our age as "aliens".

Me and my boyfriend have been together for almost 4 years and we hardly ever show PDA. We do this not because we feel uncomfortable about showing affection in public, but because it can make other people feel uncomfortable and we do not believe that we should impose our relationship on others. There is lots of time (atleast for us) for us to be "affectionate" to eachother behind closed doors.

Luckly i dont have to worry about the P.D.A. rules because my girlfriend goes to a differnt school but at the military ball we kissed on the dance floor and my friend snapped a picture of it but his girlfriend deleted it That makes me soo angry

In this district though it is not in platonic fashion. Too much focus today is put on sex, relationships, and learning about the opposite sex. School used to be about school. And when that was the case, people learned and no one graduated high school illiterate.

Independence of districts certainly is a good thing. It's easier to get change implemented at the local level than at the foreign level. Still, while I agree that the focus of school is learning, I don't think the best thing to do is separate boys and girls. It seems to me that it's beneficial to interact with the opposite sex even if just in a platonic fashion.

Middle school isn't about imitating the real world. It is about learning facts and basic knowledge.

And if a school district has a problem with boys and girls having sex in bathrooms during class, teens getting knocked up, low test scores, and poor preformance, and they feel it is because the students focus only on the opposite sex rather than the curiculum, they can and should split the genders. It may not be right for some districts, but it is right for others. This is the whole problem with a federal system. Districts cannot do things for themselves. I am sure you agree that having nation-wide standards and processes is the wrong way to approach education.
