How do you feel about PDA's? Does your school allow them? My school says the most public affection we are allowed to show is hugging and handholding (although i've seen some repeat offenders!). I think that the P in PDA needs to be changed to Private, not Public, because I think that people should keep their love for their boyfriend/girlfriend out of everyone else's face. I don't mind if you hug or hold hands, I just don't want to see someone making out in front of the whole world. And I think they should have a little more pride (doing that stuff in public can get you a bad reputation).

I agree, I dont have a problem with holding hands and all that, because me and my boyfriend do it. Also, a peck or quick kiss is fine...just dont shove your tongues down each others throats...its rude.

Well I know that my school only allows hand holding but the teachers dont inforce this rule as well as they should i really dont have a problem with PDA but if i cant get to class cause of it its ridiculous.

I'm too shy to do public acts of affection. Even holding hands. But, if I'm in a dark public place and I know no one is watching nor around, I might do something. If the mood strikes, of course.

I think with PDA, you have to have respect for others.
In other words, don't go humping on each other while everyone else is watching. Roll Eyes

my high school was Catholic and didn't allow any forms of PDA, including holding hands. Their policy on sexuality was very prohibitive, as opposed to informative (ie, no sex education beyond "Jesus wants you to wait until marriage" and "Don't get an abortion.")

Interestingly enough, by one year after graduation, about a quarter of my class were parents or expecting (no one was married).

wait, here's a brilliant solution.

if i was a teacher... kids holding hands on the way to class, i don't care, kids giving each other a little good-bye kiss, i don't give a shit, kids sucking each other's faces off, well eww, i'm going to say something.

there, easy solution.

i stand for love and peace!

And unhinged adults bring guns to work. Unfortunately, there are no rules regarding PDA in the real world. Nothing to prevent a vengeful ex from making out with your best friend in a mall or at a bar, for instance.

If you want to be against PDA in school, fine. But the emotional argument doesn't work. If someone is messed up enough to bring a gun to school because of PDA, he or she is likely to snap because they saw someone holding hands.

Well, you should because unhinged kids are usually the ones that bring guns to school.

Tough. There are always going to be things people aren't going to want to see. I don't like having my shopping experience at the mall ruined by a 300 pound lady who thought it'd be a good idea to wear tight leather pants, but there aren't any rules against that.

I don't support the idea of all-out PDA in school, either, but I object mainly because school is for getting an education. I don't particularly care about the emotional well-being of others when being offended is a choice.

regardless, its not gross, i should hold my tounge but seriously, dont be a prude and just look away if you ever see people making out.
ive been caught for pda with my girlfriend before and it pisses me off because it was just a simple goodbye hug and kiss, in no way is this disrupting any learning process or offending any students.
if youre offended by love, thats pretty cold...
its the right to express your feelings, a form a speech through physichal actions that are mutual and unharming, therefore it is qualified to be protected by first ammendment rights.
its just pitiful how a person can see love as disgusting...

Imagine growing up in an environment where affection is discouraged. Imagine being told you're worthless by someone of the opposite sex, especially after you've worked up the courage to tell them you like them. Imagine what it is like when they purposely make out with someone in front of you in school.

There is a reason why these rules are set in schools. To protect the emotionally raw students, to prevent distractions, and to prevent arguments/fights caused by jealousy. I can not even begin to describe the joy I feel when kids are punished for PDAs. I only care about the emotional well-being of others, which is far more important than your ability to get a boner in school.

Making out is obviously bad, but I think it's okay to kiss briefly if your saying goodbye. That's what me and my boyfriend do. We live in different neighborhoods, his family doesn't have a car, I can't drive, and we only see each other at the end of the school day. So...gives us a break.

I like PDA...only if its me doing it.
well..the only PDA I do is hold hands..hug
and mess around.
I can't make out in public.
I thinks its cute to see a couple hugging, holding hands and whatever but making out and doing it is just nasty.

In my school they don't care. If you get caught then you get in trouble but most teachers don't make an effort to stop it. But honestly I dont care about pda. seriously if people want to suck face, let them. I always thought that like if I was doing that with a guy I would be more careful about the location and also I would make sure we were acting apporpriate for school. but I see no problem with kissing/holding hands. but once their sucking face/feeling each other up. I draw the line there. so really i dont care most of the time.

It is gross. It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't look like they were about to swallow each other. And it is puppy love. It's not gonna last forever.

but i hate when people are making out in front of you!.
kissing and hand holding and hugging are all okay.
when teachers see making out then you usually get yelled at at my school.
i hate PDAs!
but life goes on, and if i see it i might say eww. that's about it.
