I think that rap is exactly what country and pop and rock&roll is. it's music. just because it's not the same type and it's not approved by the damn president doesn't mean it's useless. if u dont like it then shut da shit off!!! i dont like fuckin country and dat heavy metal shit but i didnt say shit about it bein a bad influece on someone.
There is good rap out there just like there is any other good music out there. And there is music out there that is just as bad an influence as rap is.

you ARE right...but i still don't like rap..and it's not really because of the hate messages or anything, that can be found..in ANYTHING not just music...i just find it...not appealing.

I don't like rap either, but it's mostly because I find most of it insanely annoying. Repeatedly mumbling "yeah" and "uh" to a repetitive drum and synthesizer beat is not something I find enjoyable to listen to. I know not all rap is like this, but you have to admit that a lot of it is. And it's what's the most popular, which makes it what I hear most often.

Not necessarily.... Rap has and still is used for messages other than killing bitches and shooting people.
Rap has been used to express political views and feelings. There are even relatively recent songs calling for the end of unnecessary violence.

Well Rap is not bad it is tha people who react to it if a song is about sex will you go have sex with the next person you see... NO if a song talks about killing will u kill some one.... NO no matter what the song is about or how its sung or who sings it,it is all about how people react to it wether it is a positive or negative no matter what

I think it's more the people who preform rap, and suggestive lyrics. I don't listen to it personally, but I know enough to the point of believeing there's some kind of bad influence.
Just because you tolerate something doesn't mean you like it, it just means you're willing to live with the fact that it's there
I dont think rap in gereneral is bad...i just think all types of music is bad. Because marylin manson talks about killing people and suicides and all this death stuff and afroman talks about getting high.. either way we all listen to it and if u say it doesnt matter then why do we listen to the music...??? BECAUSE WE ENJOY IT.. not just the beat but the lyrics.. i mean..if celebrities werent doing drugs and getting DUI'S do you think that teens would be doing it? i'm not saying its going to completly cease.. but its a better chance that it will because the people that teens listen to are role models and if their role model sis talking about doing drugs.. then most lik,ly so will the teens
