I think that every child deserves to receive an education regardless of his/her social status or background. It's pretty shocking that there are children in today's society who are illiterate, especially those living in the rural areas.

For example in China, where most of the children in the villages or in the rural areas do not attend school. They have to work as labourers since very young as their families are too poor to support their education.

Does the government of China really doing its job? I don't think so, as many of the international organizations are urging the people to sponsor the villagers' children in China to go to school. Ironically, the country itself has enough money to launch countless satellites n rockets into the space, host the coming Olympic Games etc etc, while the Chinese in the rural areas are struggling to live another day, not to mention to send the children to school.

I agree. Everyone should have the option of an education. Everyone should be literate. I want to do something. I just dont know what.
