I am "training" to become Wiccan.I have been studying it since Sept.It fascinates me.A lot of kids at school are Christians and believe what I'm doing is wrong, even my teacher asked if my mom knew I was reading this book about Wicca.I just want to get other peoples thoughts on it,no matter what religion. If there are any Wiccans or training Wiccans who have been training as long or longer than me would you talk to me about and share our feeling. If you are a initiated witch would you mind being my teacher? And please don'tlie about being Wiccan or not.

i'm also training to become wiccan, and my family is pretty heavy duty catholic. my sisters think what i'm doing is wrong, and so do a lot of my peers. i think the problem is is that a lot of people don't know what it is and that its NOT worshipping the devil. i've found quite a few good websites, my favorite is wiccantogether.com you should check it out Big Grin

I'm glad you understand. I still don't consider myself a witch yet...and I'm not just studying Wicca either. My parents want me to be Buddhist like them. Somehow, I know I'll probrably end up as an eclectic Wiccan with Buddhist influences. Perhaps it's better that way ; Buddhism has some great morals and is tolerant of other religions.

i know what you mean. i have a friend like that [a junior nonetheless] who calls herself a witch. if she were a witch, then i'd be a conservative heterosexual. she's also into the vampire/anne rice scene. i like anne rice, dont get me wrong, but she goes overboard with it. a lot of people either think that wicca is a)harry potter, b) satanistic or c) a religion. though the ones in the last category are very few and far between. yes, i know what you mean. you need to know exactly what youre talking about before you call yourself a witch or something else for that matter.

Yeah.. It extremely aggravates me that there are nine year olds out there that are lured to wicca because they want to do some magician tricks - no thanks to wicca's portrayal by the media (Buffy, Harry Potter, Sabrina, Charmed...) These "Willow-wannabes" as I prefer to call them know nothing about the religion itself..it makes me so mad that there are people running around out there, clueless of what they are doing and giving the rest of us a bad name. Just because you wear black, say you are a witch, and have some cheesy spellbooks you got at barnes & nobles doesn't make you a witch!!!!!!! You don't deserve that title until...well...until you reach that point...you know what I mean? Kind of like when Catholics get confirmed or when Jews have their bahmitzfahs (sorry about spelling)..i don't know...i can't find the words to express what i want to say and i can just hope you can decipher what i'm trying to say.

ah, well i guess you could do that, but you'll never get there. i dont know everything [im not afraid to admit it] and ive been practicing for almost two years, and i know others [adults] who have practiced their whole lives and they dont know everything. but understanding it is a plus before you jump into anything. you could start celebrating the holidays before you do magick, or even observe a group ritual. imbolc is coming up in a month, you could do it then.

By training, we mean studying the religion and fully understanding before becoming initiated or begin actually practicing the magick.

training? wicca isnt something you train for. its a bloody religon. yes, you do magick, but that is a minor part of it. dont get me wrong, im not wiccan. im neopagan. wicca is a religon.

just a question, if you know the answer, are you into covencraft or are you solitary?

Hey, this is kinda off-topic but I just found out my friend practices wicca and she was one of my really good friends, and I don't know how to react or what to say to her anymore...I mean, I don't think it's wrong...I think anyone should do whatever they feel is right...but I was just really surprised when she told me because we've been good friends for 3 years!
