i know that i am homeschooled but i went to school for 4 years and had some very good teachers my very favorite one was in 3rd grade his name was mister olsen he always made school fun and took us out for ice cream if we got all a's that week and no one was ever held back after his class(wich was very common in that school) 
If you want to do the fun stuff, you have to go through the hard stuff
