I have been seeing a lot on the news, front pages of the paper, and even this site many anti-war protests. Why can't I e-mail bush telling him that the women and children should be the last of our conserns. Those women are probley mothers of the men who are suicide bombers or the men who flew the planes on Sept. 11. My father was put on active duty at the end of Januray and just got back Monday night(Feb 24) and then I got a call when I got home from him late tuesday night but no real good news came. He left at three thirty the next day for Italy; I don't know the next time I'm going to see him is. Now I'm 110% for this war. I think its about time its happened and I'm proud that I can say my dad is defending the country. I'm also very proud in less then a year I will be joining him. I'm not happy with these people who are protesting for the war not to happen. Do you people not relize what is happing in this world, if your that blind and you need to open your eyes. I understand innosent people are going to die in this war. But are you willing to put your kids on line how about your parents, grand parents. Its time for us to step up and tell the world we're in this as a country. Who's With ME?

Look, there are already tons of other threads with the war debate going on. Many of them contain great arguments from both sides. I assure you, anon, that not everyone on either side is "blind". I would propose, however, that your belief that this war is entirely an act of self-defense, is incredibly naive. If you're actually interested in learning about the issue, as opposed to spouting rhetoric, these boards are a good place to start. I also saw an excellent article in The Nation today that you might like. (Don't worry, it's a very credible magazine, just because it leans left doesn't mean it skews the truth.) Peace, Jenny

If it can be avoided, there's no need. But lots of Iraqis will die, as well as American soldiers.. possibly American civilians.
