I did get the impression that the ppl in english speaking countries suck at other languages. I personally come from a country where ppl mostley speak 3 or more languages. i speak slovene,english,german,french,serbo-croatian,serbian,croatian. And i understand 5 more.

Other than English, I speak Spanish, and that's all. I can't imagine knowing any other languages; Spanish is difficult enough for me to keep up with!

I speak & understand English & Somali & I speak a little bit of Arabic. I understand French & Italian.

I know sign language a little spanish and french also.
I know man that is from Haiti he can speak Spanish, Freanch, English and I don't know what else.

I guess in some quarters but I'm learning German now and I want to learn Russian and Swahili but for those last two I'll probaly need to try to teach my self or wait till college aufwidersehn(bye in german)

Gee thanks....(American, CT) Well it's true- probably goes hand and hand with us not caring about the outside world. Myself- I"m studing Spainsh and Japanese right now. But there really isn't a great demand for it here because most country's speak english as a second language. Well i hope we wise up. Wow...What's Croatian? lol sorry. ~Ja ne (bye in japanese) ~Katz

yikes niiki this the second person onthis thread i ahve discovered who happenes to be from maharashtra what a coincidence? are u from pune? even very indain happend to be from my same city and turns out that we were from the same school...wow i am so happy.....

Ah yes, some languages do posses an odd beauty... but that is in the ear of the listener (not to say "eye of the beholder").

Very true, Celtic, very true. Some Languages do seem to be pretty with less effort in my opinion, though.

Well, maybe their being exotic may make them seem pretty to you. I personally believe any language can be beauitfil if spoek softly and calmly.

I am taking Spanish right now. I really want to learn to speak a few more. There are a lot of people that go to my school that speak various Chinese languages, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Spanish. That is just the main ones. It is actually very interesting to listen to them talk. I think their languages are much prettier than English. Maybe it is because I can't understand them. Who knows?

everybody here speaks three languages or more . That is besides aur versions of English ,Hindi slang ,Marathi slang.Thay are actually valid dialects

A few foreign exchange kids here from African countries (but in colleges) speak Swahilli. I don't like it much.

I do not hate anyone on these boards. For god's sake, they're just Internet forums. You take things much too personally. Secondly, you're exaggerating. I have not "burned" you in every thread you've posted in. I am not cyber-stalking you. For example, when you tell a newbie off for spelling something incorrectly, and then habitually spell something wrong yourself, or use a word wildly out of context, then yes, I am going to say something. Just don't be so condescending of others when you seem to have the same problems they do. Or keep doing it, and prepare to get flamed by me.

 yeah we do speak a lot of langs! we have to! heheh i love it, it's one of the best things to do LOL (ok there are better things heheh  ) yeah i also speak italian now, not much but enough to get by!
