sure all kids curse, but do teachers have the right to cuss u out? I think this is wrong...also a bounus should teachers assume they are god and boss you around?

I think that it is kind of funny when teachers cuss out the druggies. It is so funny because the kid sits there and tries to look all bad a** but you can tell they are scared. LOL! I love it.

I think if the kids are old enough(it would be bad if a teacher swore at elementary school kids), it's okay for a teacher to curse, as long as it's jokingly and not offending someone. But all your stories about teachers swearing at students and not really caring is horrible!

Basically, I think the teachers should have the same rules as the kids. If we swear at a teacher, we get in serious trouble, so they should get in trouble for swearing at us.

that's awful, teachers should never cuss kids out. What exactly do they think they are achieving by demeaning someone? Do they really think they are helping? I just think it's hypocritical that teachers feel it's perfectly ok to drop an occasional cuss word, but the second that one slips out of a student's mouth, all the rules change.

if kids do it..it means they loose respect 4 d teacher, therefore the teacher looses respect for the student so its just right.....

I cuss a good deal my self, so expecting someone to keep their mouths shut while I don't is not right. Teachers...I think they can, but just not to put anyone down. One teacher called me a ***** because I talked in class, and yet still got a 98 on the final exam. I rolled of a few of my ideas, and she called me a damn ***. I don't know where she got THAT one from, but, whatever. I got in trouble. She didn't. I went straight to the principal, and told her flat out what the teach said to me, and what I said to her. I did get a detention, but I never saw that teacher again.

The thing though, while I don't care about cussing, my parents do, and most of my friends do too. So the teacher might influence something wrong in her/his students. One of my teachers cussed subtly. Eg:

sugar
honey
ice
tea

Most kids didn't get it, and she got it out safely.

I don't think its right but teachers have a right to free speech just as everyone else in this country BUT if it offends someone or whatever then...no they shouldn't do it.
PLUS if we get in trouble for cussing, why can't they?

hmm.... Are you from Utah? I'm not trying to be smart. I have a lot of family in Utah and they are all mormons. I often get called a mormon at school b/c my friends are like obsessed with them kind of. They call me "The Mormon from Utah". . I am really Baptist though.

i think it is wrong. They are not being a very good role model at all. I have quite a few teachers who have cussed, it seemed to me, like they were actually trying to fit in with us. seriously, they would just laugh it off, and be like oh well. That makes me sick.

Ouch, Sinner, that hurts. Are you really a lesbian though, or was she trying to be mean? It's been a while since I was here so I don't know a lot of the newer people here.

As for cussing... well, I think it's OK if they don't target it at you, or if they make it absolutely 100% clear that they are joking. For instance, my English teacher wrote "CS" on our tests. Someone asked what it meant, and he said, "Chicken****! No, no, I'm joking, it means 'complete sentence'". That's OK. But it is not OK if it was truly 'chicken****'.

my 6th period sub called me a smart@ss lesbian...and for the stupidest reason she also cussed out all of us 4 being"dumb,worthless pieces of s**t" as she said...verbal abuse..oh and heres the best parts 1.we're in an advanced class and she hardley knew anything about english,hullo you speak it!! 2. she sent every kid to the office saying were being b***hes,she really wrote that and the vice had no prob with it yet when a kid cusses in the cafeateria he suspends us thats not right!!!

OK: My band teacher saying "Gimme an explination, not just 'it sucks' or 'it was ok'. An actual explination!"
Not OK: My 3rd grade teacher saying "You're worthless children...pieces of ****."

And teachers are THERE to boss you around (to a point).

You know what I think you're right. My Supervisor a.k.a Vice-principal gave me detention for "not finishing my homework".
At the end of the day I was going to talk to her about my detention, and I said "Sis. Patti I know I finished my homework (having the books in my hand)." And the first thing she said was "Don't argue."

Did it sound like I was arguing?

But at the end of the week I ended up getting detention anyway for this time, really not finishing my homework. But she didn't give me detention for the real one because I got it at the begining of the week.

OK, This is the problem at my school, the kids cuss the teachers out. Some girl even took a knife to my old math teacher. Pretty scary stuff.
