I was just wondering how active yall's student councils are. My school has a very active one but it seems like we are always doing the same thing. Right now, we are trying to think of a cool name for our Peanut Butter drive, so any help there would be nice. Also, I just wanted to know some of the things that yall's StuCo did and if it had any effect. Did the school actually participate/respond or was it just a small group thing?

The student council at my school doesn't really do anything except collect dues and decorate for school dances and pep rallies.

Ours is really active. We have spirit weeks to get people involved in school, we have canned food drives (in the last one we brought in almost 2,000 can, which is good for a school with like 200 people in it!), and we always decorate the school before a football, volleyball, etc. game. Us Cheerleaders are good at making stuff look great around our school. Plus, I love being Sophomore class President. That way I can help our school be so much better. Go Warriors! Hehehe!

My school's student council (or StudCo, as they call themselves) has an annual food drive. One year, the theme was Robin Hood. They figured that since we live in a relatively wealthy suburb, we should "steal from our rich parents, and give it to the poor people." (That's an exact quote from the council president, when she was interviewed on a local radio show.) They had posters that said to "give them the stuff you don't want!" and had a picture of a can of lima beans.

Somehow, this plan didn't win over the student body, and they collected less than a third of what they usually did. As a bonus, they made themselves look like complete idiots on a popular talk radio show.

At least I didn't vote for them...
