I feel that if you want to learn about religions you should do it on your own time. I don't know where you go to school, but in my World History class I learned about Christianity (the Crusades, etc), Islam, Judaism, Buddism, and Hinduism. We only learned about the relevant parts of the religions, such as how they affected the various countries we were learning about (such as wars being fought over religion). We didn't have religious radicals come in and **** us to hell if we didn't believe exactly what they did. That's not what anyone needs in school. If you want religion get home schooling or go to a Christian school, but you shouldn't expect it in public school. There is a separation of church and state for a reason. By the way, sometimes you have to open your mind (like you expect everyone to do with your religion) and step out of your comfort zone. You can't expect everyone to want to learn about what you are preaching, especially when you are so close minded that you don't want to listen to anything about other religions. Give others the respect that you want.

I think that if you need to learn about the background and main points of a religion to learn the history of a country, area, or culture then it should be included in the curriculum, but if it isn't needed to learn then it shouldn't be included. It isn't as much of an issue to me as to which religions are in textbooks as much as if the religions in the textbooks are needed or not.
