I haven't been in a school band although i really love violins!!! I have watched orchestras twice and i have a friend who plays the violin and i envy her... LOL... And i have also watched "Music of the Night" a musical play which is composed of different musicals combined into one show. It was absolutely great! Smile

No, yogore. The French horn is sub par in comparison with the violin and viola, both of which I play.

No. That is all.

Chamber orchestras shall live forever.

I agree, Gem, that Orchestra is surpasses band, but the french horn certainly surpasses violins and violas.

I really would like to learn Cello though.

Orchestra surpasses band by a landslide.

Mmm, violins and violas are sweet.

I'm listening to NPR right now. Beautiful music, it is.

We don't have orchestra at my school...Frown

I wish we did.

Then again, I love love love love marching. It's my favorite thing to do, like ever. I don't why but it is.

And we don't have IB music but we do have honors band. I don't know about all the choir/choruses we have. I know there's a Treble Choir and maybe two others.

I want to learn how to play a stringed instrument but since we don't play them in any music group at my school, I've never gotten to learn. I want to learn how to play violin.

We have marching band, jazz band, general band and concert band. I'm in all except jazz band. I play the flute and piccolo (the best instruments in the world) and little of the tuba. I'm also in a band at church. I love music!

Next time you think about your High School graduation, realize 1/3 of the graduating class is missing.

We have Marching Band, Jazz Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Concert Choir, Belle Voche Choir, Mens Ensamble Choir, Chamber Choir, Jazz Choir, String Orchestra, and Full Orchestra. Several people are in more than one thing, like all those in string Orchestra are in full orchestra. And the school is going to start IB music next year. I can't wait!

Band, Jazz band, and Community Orchestra.

Orchestra beats all other ensambles by far.

Yay for French Horns.

I'm in marching band and jazz band fall semester (jazz is volunteer after-school and starts after marching is over) and wind ensemble and jazz band in the spring.

I play flute and piccolo. I plan on being section leader next year, hopefully.

I am in Concert and Jazz choir if the counts.
The only instrumant I can play is the guitar and only some basic stuff, they don't want a guitarist in band anyways.

PS: WELCOME
