I'd like to start off by saying, most of you should shut the **** up. If you've never tried drinking, how can you complain about it. You know nothing if you say "drinking isn't fun" because it really is, there are other things equally as fun, but why stop drinking. Everyone, stop getting your information from stupid government comercials, drinking isn't going to just kill you. I don't go *****ing about you people staying home on friday nights to studying while I'm out having fun, and I'm not always drinking..."If you have to drink to have fun I would hate to have your life. " only like 1000 people have said that, we dont have to drink to have fun and we dont have to have it, but its just more fun. If dumbasses get killed because they drink a 40 of vokda to themselves on their first night, thats their own fault, so don't ***** at me for it. And to everyone who said that people drink to become accepted, you are very wrong! Hardly anyone drinks to be accepted, most people drink to relax and have some fun, my advice to you is to just chilllll.

p.s. - Good job sad11.. before you go ranting on about underage drinking, mabey you should experience it first

papasmurf and fantasy, i must apologize for that retard WVrocks7, he/she obviously has a curfew of 6:30 and doesn't understand how the real world works. i would invite anyone who doesn'y understand what being drunk is to ask anyone who knows, a friend, a parent and if all else fails, post a note and ask me. i am here to help all you people who dont understand. even though ignorence is bliss so is understanding. and to all u religious types like my self. jesus turned water into wine for a reason. adam and eve both went for the forbbiden fruit so they could understand. its that simple.

i just heard about this site and personally i am disgusted by every single one of you preachy high and mighty people who have never experienced being drunk. how can you sit there and tell me how i am suppose to feel after a good night of partying. i dont knock any of your life styles by saying "nerding it up is a big waste of time". I am an intelligent person and can live with the fact that some people feel differently then me. As for those people who dont know what they are doing and die from alcahol and drugs, its their own fault for being stupid enough to do that much. in reality those of us that can enjoy alcahol and use it to benifit ourselves dont die. in fact we will probably go farther in this world then all of you sheltered little brats. people get drunk, get over it.

Wow-...wow. This is such a big issue!
I believe all drinking is bad, adults or otherwise, just like Kahira. But, sadly, it wouldn't work to just outlaw alchohol again. They did before, and people still found ways to get around the laws. They'd just do it again, especially since everything in society - aging, for instance, goes down. So do people's actions. If they opposed it before, they probably would do it all the more right now.
Outspoken, sorry, but you're wrong! Not every teen will be exposed to alchohol. Not at the moment, anyway. My neighbor's keep beer at their house, and that's the first time I've ever even been around alchohol. A couple of weeks ago, they had an open house party, and some got drunk. I won't EVER go to a party at their house again. Frankly, it really frightens me. I've been brought up in a Christian enciroment, and while some exposure can't be helped, there are some things I haven't encountered.
Fantasy, papa, sorry for being blunt, but - YOU'RE STUPID! You admitted to knowing it does terrible things to your body, but you'll keep doing it because it's FUN? If you want to act crazy, just eat a bunch of sugar and get hyper! Don't trash - WASTE your body and expose yourself to diseases! Man, I totally don't understand people like that! I know it's your body - you're gonna do what you want - but man, what a thing to want! It's just nuts!!!!!
And that teacher going to a party - what a jerk! That'slike, one of the worst examples an adult can give - along with drugs, premarrital sex,an crime. It's just awful! Society is going way down! People used to shun those who stole, did drugs, drank a lot, etc. Now they shun those who don't! Total maniacs are abounding right now, and it's a pity that the world had to turn out this way.
I hate it. I just hate it. I wish that I could help the whole world, make the descision for them to respect their health and mroality, and God, but I can't. I can change some of the world, but not all of it. It's almost depressing. frown

Yes i agree that underage drinking has become a problem in our society, but you have to consider not all teens feel the need to get plastered to have fun. I personally think if smeone wants to drink a little bit it is their choice, maybe not the best one but it is theirs. But honestly how many of you have never gotten drunk or had a drink to "loosen up" at a party? Now until everyone of you who have put down others who drink can honesty say no to this than good for you but to the others who have drank i am sorry but you are hippacrites! Enjoy!

When I say that you don't need to drink to have fun, that is anything but a lie. It's actually the truth, believe it or not. Besides, I suppose I could be considered one of the "in crowd." I'm no student council, track, mock trial, band, and I just run around the school and do whatever. So basically, I know all the different groups of people at our school. And I turn down these parties not because I wasn't invited, but I have enough respect for myself not to look like a drunken fool. I don't see how getting drunk is fun? Let's see, you can't see straight, you don't know what you are doing, you can't walk straight, and you generally wake up not knowing what happened and feeling sick to you stomach.

But that's tons of fun isn't it? Sure sounds like it to me! You know, just because of your brilliant post, I think I'm going to get ****faced every weekend now! I just can't wait to walk around like a total fool, probably hurt myself, probably say some things that I wouldn't normally say, and the best part is, I can wake up with the biggest headache and just throw up all over the place! Wow, what a great idea.

My opinin ...i have drank and i do every once in a blue moon only b/c i see no point in why some teens do it every weekend. i drink like new years and maybe one other big day out of the year. i think its dumb when people say aww man i got ****ed up or i'm gonna go get ****ed up. That sounds so stupid coming out of some1. If teens new how they sounded and looked maybe they wouldn't do it or maybe if they thought that is isn't cool to be doing it they would stop.

Canada, I get invited to parties, I don't want to be part of the preppy "in crowd" (I think they're all losers!), and I don't drink because drinking doesn't equal fun. I like talking and hanging out with people who are sober, they are more able to carry on a conversation, what's so bad about that?

I don't have a problem with drinking… in moderation that is, I mean if people end up puking bucketloads then I really can't see the fun in it, but I can see how it's enjoyable and all… but it really annoys me when people boast about it. "I got sooooo wasted yesterday, I can hardly remember a thing" it just gets on my nerves. When people get so drunk they can't remember, then it probably means they drank too much, that's what I think anyway.
I have drunk alchohol and like the way it tastes, but I don't want to actually get drunk for a while… because I just don't think I'd enjoy it, I like being in control, and I'd probably do something embarrassing.
Also, I'm sorry to sound like such a bore, but it's possible to have fun without alchohol. I throw huge parties at my house, everybody has a great time, we watch movies and at the last one we hired a kareoke machine which was great, it was only a month ago and people are already pestering me to have another party cos they enjoyed it so much. We didn't have alchohol, to be honest we didn't need it… Drinking can be fun… but drinking isn't necessary to HAVE fun. It's important to see the difference between the two.

Underage drinking is a problem when people do things like drink and drive. However it is not a problem when you are going out to parties and having a few beers. Drinking is awesome it's so much fun and you have a great time and all of you saying you don't need to drink to have fun are liars to an extent. Don't get me wrong I play sports and have a great time and hang out with my friends without drinking. But it's great to go out on the weekend and just let it all go and have a kick *ss time. For people who say they don't drink and it's a loser thing to do well you are all probably part of the out crowd and just are bitter because you don't get invited to the parties. I think if you drink within reason and there is no driving involved everyone is good to go. big grin

Now I'm usually an open-minded person and all, but along with drugs and smoking, I think heavy drinking (esp. underage drinking) really gets on my nerves. It actually makes me sick to my stomach hearing all these kids talk about how they went to a party and this girl got raped while she was sloppy drunk, and hearing some freakin' IDIOTS laugh about how they just barely got caught by the cops while driving drunk. mad And now that I'm in college, of course I hear about this s*** all the time! Can't these people control themselves? Geez, if you can't DEAL with your problems or even a little boredom, and feel that life has to be one big escapist party... that's sad. That's just really pathetic...

actually, it's not violation of the law (or at least not in wisconsin). you are allowed to drink alcohol as long as your parents are there and have control of the situation (meaning they're not drunk)

something like 4 or five people have died this year at my school, and i think the majority of them were alcohol and driving related. any way it is an issue that we don't pay enough attention to. i think we try not to think about it. i agree with stallion. we have an assembly every year to educate us on drinking and driving. and if we are not going to learn that form our parents, which we should, then the assembly is very nessesary. they let people with dui's and dwi's drive and have 4 and 5 accidents before on the 6th accident they kill someone, then they are put in prison. they should not get 4 and 5 chances. that's my opinion. wink

If you have to drink to have fun I would hate to have your life. Maybe you could end up like a girl in our school and get drunk with her boyfriend, leave a party in a car with him driving and hitting a telephone pole at 100 mph and dying. Oh well hey sounds awsome to me lets go drink. I would bet that I would have more fun without drinking or any useless thing as that than you do by drinking.

You people are losers. Just because you don't like to have fun doesn't mean you have to rag on people who do.

I think underage drinking is a huge problem in this country. There should be harsher consequences for those who choose to drink underage. I know people who go to parties and get wasted, and they think their cool because of that! One friend of mine drinks wine coolers once in a while when her parents aren't home. And she won't listen to me when i tell her how bad it is for her. The only time I ever drank is when I was at my sisters house in France, when they had wine for her wedding dinner. And then I only had like half a glass, if that. I think that there is too much mystery in drinking, and that is why so many teens do it. It is so forbidden that it becomes something they can only get their hands on at a party or when they are out with their friends so they drink way more then they should. Or sometimes they wait until they are 21 and then they are doing 21 shots for their 21st birthday, and that happens a lot at colleges by me, their have been people who died from doing that.I think that in order to stop underage drinking the mystery has to be taken out of it.
