Ok, I just found out today my school added some more survalience cameras in the hallways. Students privacy is getting cut down to nothing. There are random drugs searches that aren't so random because they target the same kids also. These were some of the topics off a survey that an english teacher sent around. So anyways my point behind this....which do you think is more important a individual's rights or the good of society? Do you think we deserve (the students) to have some privacy in our schools today?

your wrong if you feel that they are invading your privacy then you have somthing to hide. you shouldnt care about cameras in the halls or drug tests, i understand where you are coming from but your in a public place and you shouild understand they have all the right in the world to drug test at "random

I think that maybe we should have cameras in the halls because it would help with the ones who duistrupt the lockers and other things. Also, we could rid of false accusations, plus i'm just waiting until i see a teacher do something wrong!

Well, obviously there won't be cameras in the bathrooms. I think the point was to moniter the activities in the halls. Even if both parties are suspended, they can know what actually happened.
I'm sorry but the irony of my comment was directed at Karate... dont over analyze it.

See my point? How are cameras there changing anything except the amount of electricity used to run the school? And maybe to prove you were involved in the fight, so you can get suspended too.
What are the cameras REALLY preventing?

I don't mind the cameras, but how are they making it safer when it is only evidence? It can't magically stop a fight when a kid gets beaten to a pulp, it only proves the other kid did it.

What privacy do we actually need in school? We are there to learn, that's why they do install survelliance cameras in the schools. If we didn't have survelliance cameras in my school, we might have never found out who set fire to the locker or who jumped who. It's for the students protection. Next, I'm going to hear that Target and Kmart shouldn't have cameras because it's a problem for our rights. It's to protect us. Get over it! What privacy do you need? To make out in the hallway with your boyfriend or to skip out of class? If you are worried about the cameras, then you must be doing something you don't want anyone to find out about because school is just like a Kmart, they have to protect their environment and business and make sure everythings safe.

Where do you put your stuff? Are you supposed to keep it in bags all day? That seems like it would instigate even more problems.
