In the 5th book they get a new teacher(of course) Also some1 dies. I don't know who but I know it is some1 important to the story (i personaly think it is going to be the new teacher becouse they never are able to keep a teacher for longer than 1 year).
personally, I think Harry Potter is dumb, not evil. I Think Lord Of The Rings is much better. In fact, I would go so far as to say it's the best two movies I have ever seen (Fellowship Of The Ring and the Two Towers).
even the vatican says that harry potter and similar books are fine... although i suppose that's only a good rebuttal to catholic critics of harry potter.

i'm a christian, and i like harry potter books and the movies. me watching or reading them doesnt mean i believe in witchcraft, it just means that i like the books and movies! i've always leaned towards reading fantasy type books... i've just always liked them more. there's nothing wrong with nonfiction and historical books, i have just always enjoyed reading those types of books. just because i do doesnt make me a wiccan or a heathen. different people like different things.
ya, i think it's stupid too. people say it's ok to use you imagination, but then they say no, you can't do that, can't like that, it's evil. what the heck is up with that?!
Oh wow...that's greatness! Thanks for letting us know, Brooke. My brother was so wrong, he said that they weren't going to release any for awhile to increase popularity of the movies. Well disappointment with JK Rowling is now turned into happiness!
They just announced like 10 minutes ago that the newest Harry Potter will be released in June...I'm super-psyched, so I can learn more on how to be a witch and do evil unto others!! Hooray!
Harry Potter is evil? Unbelievable. If one says that, I think when he reads the book, all he concentrates on is just the fact H.Potter and his friends use magic, no more. If Harry Potter is evil, why does he have so pure feelings such as friendship? He treasures it. I was deeply moved while reading the friendship between Harry, Ron and Hermione. Can an evil boy sacrifice himself for the others?

sorry, but to me 'evil' is such a harsh word. my foot has a way of living in my mouth so i am sorry that i 'need to grow up' and bothered u avenger. lets just get off the subject of religion all together. when i said it was ppl like u that made me not like religon, let me rephrase that...its arguements like this that make me not like it. i hate having to argue about whats evil, whos evil, whats wrong, whats a sin. i am not a pagan but have been studying/interested in it for 2yrs. so i just got a little defensive. u believe what u believe, i believe what i believe. lets leave it at that.
Im sorry if i offended you, but what i was trying to state is that the people who were getting angry at me for calling wicca an evil religion were the same people that were calling Christianity Ignorant.
By "evil" i mean not of my god, i do not mean its a bad religion, i thought i already stated that.
The information i got on the wicca religion, if false, is not really my fault. i have several friends who claim to be Wiccan. i was going on what they have told me so far. if i was wrong i could of been told i was wrong without being called ignorant.
Ok, to set the record straight (again) i did not say "do not watch Harry Potter because its evil" I simply stated that i do not watch it because i think that the concept is evil. the same reason why i do not watch most secular movies. Or in other words i would not take my niece to a harry potter screaning, i would much rather take her to a veggitales screaning... Now tell me whats so wrong with that.

It is so hard for anyone to get into a debate about religion because someone always ends up being the 'bad guy' and mean words get thrown around.
I would just like to say, that I agree with you, Avenger, on the point that everyone should be able to believe what they want to beleive... but, i also think that people should be able to defend what they believe and be heard for it, know what I mean? It's very hard to explain. Basically, in your defense you have said because the bible says so and that you have a right to your opinion and whatnot which is fine. But then again, us Wiccans on the board have not been allowed to defend ourselves because you and some other Christians rely so much on the bible that our refutations mean nothing. There is no balance here. Also, many of us in the past have not been accepted so we are very defensive about our beliefs. Please give us some slack.
So, for the Record, I, a Wiccan, KNOW that Harry Potter is just a book and that the types of magic which are described in it have nothing to do with the Wiccan Religion or Satan, and at any rate, I know that my Religion is not evil because we do not believe in Satan. Furthermore, Wicca (paganism) was around long before Christianity became mainstream, and it does not play off of Christianity, because the two are not really connected in any way. I have heard the Goddess and she does not force me to believe anything, but simply helps me to understand the world better, and gives me guidance.
There is my argument. It is the truth to me, no more, no less.
Now maybe the two groups will be able to accept one another more
Avenger (and everyone else who says this as a comeback) don't anyone to grow up. We all have a lot of that to do. Plus, growing up isn't that greatest thing either. That's another great thing about Harry Potter in my mind, it kind of gives you that fascination and imagination you have when you're a kid.
First of all,I'd like to say that this board has done an excellent job at digressing. I have to admit though, Avenger, that by trying to read the posts with an objectively you do seem to be putting down Wicca. Not to be mean or anything, but it seems like this board just turned in to a pointless, name calling argument. If you want to defend your religions, I think it would be a good topic for another board. You people are getting pretty worked up (and it bit irrational). See what religion does to people? That was sarcasm, btw. Anyway, that happens to everyone and I had a point in here somewhere....oh yeah, back to main topic. Harry Potter. Is it evil? I think not. I wrote my reasoning in a earlier post and I don't feel like being redundant.

Let me set the record straight here. When I complain about spelling and grammar, it's not about typos. I know that we all type fast here and sometimes hit a wrong key. What I'm talking about is the slow and painful systematic destruction of English and the people who try to talk fancy without really knowing what they're saying. Only someone who is unfamiliar with the phrase "per se" and its meaning would spell it "per-say." It seems to clearly be a case of someone having heard the term used, thinking they know what it is, and subsequently mis-using it. And let's take for example AvengerofGod's last post here. It's so poorly written and incompletely thought out that I'm not even going to bother with its content, which I just plain don't understand.
I have the occasional typo here and there, but I'm pretty sure I know how to spell "imagination," "faulty," "erroneous," and "number," all of which I have misspelled on this board, not to mention the many other words on other boards that I've misspelled in haste as well.
As for Harry Potter, he's the man, there's no mention of Wicca in the books or movies, I have a hard time imagining this much discussion over whether or not Glenda the Good Witch of the North is evil or not, and I'm tired of this subject.
P.S. The being that set my universe and conception of being into motion was a woman. Some dude wrote it down somewhere, so I'm adopting it as fact.

I never told you not to watch harry potter, just like i never told you to not be a wiccan. But i also didnt tell you it was right, because its not. but i am not gonna judge you for it, thats not my job, my job is to tell you that Jesus loves you, and plus forgives.
