my parents are no exception. I love them to bits but they drive.me.up.the.wall.!!!!!!!!!!!!

People have different opinions of what good and bad parents are. Some kids think that if their parents won't let them use the car of a Friday night makes them horrible parents. Others know that a bad parent is one who abuses their kids, whether it be emotionally, physically, or sexually.

I only have a mom. My father died when I was 10. I don't regret the time I had with him, because I spent 99% loving him, and not being a snotty brat that hates her parents when they don't give her something she wants, not that I'm saying that you are.

whoa. I understand moms and dads can put a damper on your plans. But maybe you just are looking at things all wrong. I mean maybe u havent proven your worthy of trust yet. Im not downing u, I've been there before. I used to think I had the most over-protective parents in the world....My Mom told me a story about her past that I never knew about before and it helped me nderstand where she was coming from. So, my advice is pick ur battles wisely because some things are NOT worth the strife. hope that helps : )

My parents are divorced so im livin with my mom. She never gets on my nerves or nags me about certain things. The only time i can say she sucks is when she doesnt let me go certain places...and she hardly does that.
I can never say that my dad sucks because she lets me do whatever i want!

I would give my mom "a good run for her worries" but i live so far from anywhere that i cant really go anywhere and most of my neighbors are family so i cant go there either. But, I do have a good friend who can drive an offered to take me places and im thinkin bout takin him up on his offer......I'd rather be w/ my friends too, but who wouldnt?
it hasn't been that long...i get bored on here and leave for like a month then come back for a while-on and off again.

most of the time yes! but next year i'm living away from home and going off to school, i'm only fifteen!. i'll only see the 'rents every other weekend and on holidays. The good thing, they put money in an atm account every week. yes my life is gettin better

Well I understand how you could think your parents suck. My parents are very controlling and have to know where I am when and why and with who always. They don't let me curse or dress provocitavly or see certain movies. And I know I hate it. But I also know that it's for my good. I see the way some people act and dress. I know what they do that their parents don't know. I have a friend who's parents ask no questions and let her do as she pleases. And her choices are horrible! Sometimes my parents being controlling pisses me off but I'm happy that at least they care enough to worry.

If I may make a suggestion, have you tried being completely angelic for a week or so and then asking nicely to go out for an afternoon movie (or whatever people in your area do) with a group of friends? I'm sorry if I came off as 13itchy, it's just that when kids complain about their parents being "sucky" it's usually 50% of the kid's fault as well. And it annoys me because my friends have it so bad, and people don't know how lucky they are. Sorry again.

I realize parents can be much worse. And that can last for a very long time; try all my life and i dread the next 3 years b/c my sis is going to college and she didnt get her freedom until she was 18 and even then my mom tried to restrict her. I have 3 years til I'm free and i know that as soon as my sis leaves i will be the center of my mom's attention and i will never be able to do anything. I may sound like I am whining about it but at this point I dont care I can't do anything else about it and i have no one to talk about it w/ b/c I'm not allowed to talk or see anyone!

your parents might be great, well good for you, but some of us have parents who dont let us do anything...i rarely leave this house b/c my mom doesnt let me visit my friends or go anywhere!! she doesnt approve of my friends and we fight quite frequently...wanna be in my shoes for a day? doubt it, but if you do let me know and we'll do some negotiations. k? now wanna talk about mental?

oh yeah, she also listens thro the door when i am on the phone so i put my radio in front of the door and blair it so she can't hear...she knows too much that she's not supposed to know!

yes, PARENTS SUCK....actually my dad is cool but my mom and step-dad, another story. They don't let me do anything!!! lately i wanted to kill my mom...she grounded me from the internet, phone and 'certain TV stations' for as long as she feels like....she finally let me online for the 1st time in a week. I have never been grounded before so this sucked! and i cant watch my TV when she's not home b/c she put a 'child lock' on FUSE, MTV, VH1, all of them so I cant watch them!!!!!!! B!TCH!
