i was in school today having a political debate with my class mates and these kids just kept saying: "americas stupid", "americans are idiots", "bush is a retard". i asked them why they thought that way and they couldnt back up anything they said, YOU CANT SAY AMERICANS ARE IDIOTS IF YOUR AMERICAN. Why is it that many kids hop on the bush and america bashing bandwagon? dont get me wrong i have no respect for bush but at least i have my reasons, instead of just following the crowd. is it happening in a bunch of schools?

It doesn't take a reason to have an opinion. your opinion isn't worth much if you can't back it up though. Sometimes the reasons come after the opinion. There are stupid americans. Not because they lack political knowledge but because they are dense. "You learn about equality in the classroom but you find out about it in life" - Campus Confidential www.myspace.com/yogore

Not all Americans are stupid. In fact, none are stupid, it's actually ignorance. So, no Americans are stupid, but many are very ignorant.

your right however i guess what i am more mad at is the fact that they are trying to make a point when they have no evidence at all. and as far as the kids knowing what they are saying just not being able to back it up, they had no idea what they were saying. there are a bunch of kids at our school who just follow the liberal popular kids at our school. they really dont know any of the arguments but they just reapeat what the kids say. thats what im tlaking about.

They are allowed opinions even if they can't back them up. I think people know why they feel certain ways, they just don't know how to describe it. They can say Americans are stupid because it's a generalization. You are not talking about them all, just the country people as a whole.
