Come on, she probably learned her lesson, better now than later. Well, you think that the teacher would be able to touch the student if the student was becoming physical. Think about it this way, what if like a 15 year old at a high school attacked a small teacher, would the teacher be able to defend themselves without touching the student?
Why do I have a conciense, all it does is **** with me?

did u see on the news, they automaticlly turned this into a race issue. they said she was only put into handcuffs because she was black. some news stations also pointed out that there were 3 white police officers doing it. that kid was wreaking havoc, if a black officer had handcuffed her would it have been ok? and the reason the teacher probably didnt touch the kid is because america is sue crazy. you can get sued for anything these days, if the teacher tried to restrain the student she probably would have been charged with assault. her only option was to call the police. Basiclly i think that America needs to lose the politclly correct way of thinking, teachers should be able to restrain kids. Im not saying theyu should be allowed to hit the kids im just saying they should at least be allowed to hold them and call the principal. what i dont understand is why the hell was there a camera in the classroom?

Hand-cuffs may have been a bit much, but the cops needed to be there. Schools aren't day-care services. They're not there to raise children. That's the parents' job, and the parent's weren't going to come and do their job. What else was the teacher supposed to do. I know some people who are teachers, and my sister is currently getting a teaching lisence, and they aren't allowed to touch the children unless they are bleeding. No joke.

theres more than one to skin a cat i guess but calling the police are all teachers this stupid ? if you have to call the police you've already lost the battle because that little girl now knows that those teachers have no authority over her. this is pathetic
That might not make any sense but right now I'm too tired to explain it to you or to care .......

oh please. i do not have sympathy for those adults. i saw that footage of where the girl was in the principals office ripping papers off walls and hitting the woman. but this was all basically provoked, the woman basically lets the girl hit her for the first 10 seconds, and basically lets her rip the papers off the wall. she should have grabbed her hands and arms in the first place not after she did all the damage, the girl is like 5 years old and the woman looked over 200 lbs., there's no way she shouldn't have been able to control that young girl. not to mention the THREE cops.

yeah, its bad that this girl got put in handcuffs, but what else could they do? I saw her lawyer on FOXNews last night, and he made her out to be this little angel. Okay no, this girl hit her teacher! Yes, cheer, it would have been better to do something other than yelling at her, but in todays society, you cant touch a child by any means, because the parents will come back saying you hurt them...so yes, the cuffs might have been much, but the police couldnt have just held her hand and walked her out..she probably would have hit them too, if not something worse...

I think it was a bad circumstance. Nothing could have avoided it I am guessing. But she is five, don't stereotype that she is going to grow up to a be a thug. "You learn about equality in the classroom but you find out about it in life" - Campus Confidential www.myspace.com/yogore

In situations like this one, I think teachers should have the authority to do something other than yell at the student. Not physically harm the student, or perform child abuse of any sort, but maybe take the child by the hand somewhere. Teachers aren't even allowed to touch a student anymore in case of a law suit, but that little girl could have hurt somebody! If the teacher or prinicple could have done more, than maybe that little girl wouldn't have had to experience a police car at the tender age of five.

I dunno...now that I can stop spazzing after reading the lawyer part, I think maybe after the kid got so scared about the cuffs...if she doesn't get pulled into a bunch of stupid lawsuits, maybe that'll teach her to stop being a brat. *shakes head* hitting a teach like that... ~Padfoot
