its quite funny that you all would spend your time insulting people through a message board. No one is going to stop insults, if its not your gender it will be your hair. the world will never be perfect, to be human is to be faulted. there are people trying to level out the playing field, but they definatly arn't doing it by posting messages to guys who think it is funny to see girls go crazy over little emails. dont get pissed at me, im all for womens rights and equality, but if your so much of a womens rights activist then get out of your chair and away from your compututer and do somthing. Go to collage make somthing of yourself just like everyone eles. Yelling across message boards is the most distant action one can take if your trying to change somthing. its also really pathetic, come on its a message board, i personally found all of your thoughts and bickering very amusing. the intelligent thoughts were very interesting, but the bickering completly hid everything you all are trying to say.

Why don't you do us all a favor and stick your head where the sun don't shine? And while you're at it, cut your **** off as well?
A woman has as much right to exist as a man, as well as many other rights, such as the right to privacy, look at other men, and to HAVE RESPECT!!
After all, without women, where would man alone be? Nowhere.
Where would the genes for intellect be? Not found in a man, that's for sure (no offense to the non sexist males out there).
What would the world be without the sensibility and strength of women? A deserted, lifeless, wasteland.
Even in the kitchen, they were doing more than their fair share of the work.
Providing men with nourishment is certainly not a big and glorious job, but without cooked food, men would most certainly starve.
You think that only men belong in the battlefield or office...well, let me tell you, women are as strong as men, as competent as men, as intellegent as men, more passionate than men, more level headed than men...
But most certainly NOT WEAK. --------------------------------- TGIF, THANK GOD I'M FEMALE!!!!

dear myfingerpoints... i happen to be a 14 year old female and i was discouraged about the jokes you made about women. i think that you are a sexist S.O.B. because its what you are. anyone who makes any kind of remark like that or against any religion or race has been brought up wrong or something has happened in there life. i also believe that anyone who would say, post, or anything of that sort of distributing of any kind of joke like that, in some way form or fashion believes whatever they said. thats why i believe this about you. im sorry if i have offended you. i dont appreciate what you said.

Well i know there is a lot of sexism in my classroom. They will always just ask for BOYS to carry things. Like girls are the weaker sex. Some are as strong and stronger than them! I don't get it!

Yeah, that does suck. Teachers just don't get it. But, er, Stephie... the word "f@g" is VERY prejudiced... Yeah, its a term for "homosexual," but it comes from the idea that homosexuals should be burned at the stake: "they make good f aggots (firewood)."

Ok, this happened today, and it REALLY peeved me. Maybe I'm over-reacting......you can decide. In reading class, we had to read a short play on two citizens who went to take an issue to the President. Our teacher picked boys to play most of the parts (even the GUARD which could be a girl), but that isn't the part I'm mad about. When he came to the part of the President, a lot of girls (as well as boys) raised their hands. Our teacher said (which in case I haven't mentioned, he's a boy), "Well, I have to pick a boy, so Michael you can play the part of the President!" So I said "Why don't you pick a girl?" He said, "Well, we haven't had a girl President yet, so I can't pick one until we do!" So like everygirl in our class got really ticked off. And when he finally picked a girl for a part (a stinky one! she was the narrator!!), she gave him a dirty look, and he said "Don't look at me like that!" I think he deserved it!! Who cares if their wasn't a girl President. It wasn't like he was actually PICKING a President. Ok, so maybe I'm blowing this out of porportion....but maybe I'm not. I mean, he picks boys to play girl parts (cuz most of the boys in my class are f@gs and like to play girl parts) so what's wrong with him picking a girl for a boy part. Argh....our teachers suck!!! the anti-prejudice one, .:Steph:. Stephie2400@yahoo.com

Sexism is prevelent in many situations, including school classrooms. Fortunately, my classes in my final year at my high school have turned out to be mostly females in the classes. Apparently, the females dominate the upper levels of subjects in my school. I sometimes find myself hiding in a classroom and allowing the guys to take over. It is because of this behavior that I've developed being in a co-ed environment that has made me consider a women's college as a place in which i will further my education. Guys tend to take over the discussions and the classroom. Something needs to be done about this, maybe putting the guys through a sensitivity thing or something, getting to be a little less aggressive in the classroom. Girls also need to become more aggressive in the classroom. Hopefully, as time goes on, this sexism in the classroom stuff with disappear, along with disappearing in every other area of society.

Im a girl i like bein a gurl im PROUD to be a female. in our society today though many woman r not proud to b woman thats why we have dikes and otha things. Some woman like to be house wives and let their husband rule the otha aspects in ther life half or even most of these woman have been taught thats how its gotta b. i for one say if my husband wants to work 2 jobs to take care of me and provide me and myfamily wit more than enough and all i have to do is clean tha house (somethin that i dont mind doin) and take care my kids (somethin i would b don anyways) and make sure he's happy , than i would do it. why work when u have a man that wants to do it for u. dont get me wrong woman should be educated and independent but its not harmful to let ur man or husband think u r dependent on him (its kind of sexy too) i think there is no reason for guys to eva say that women should stay in tha house or wateva but its every womans choice if a woman chooses to let a man treat her like that than thats wat she gets but in most cases half tha things guys say r not premeditated and for that reason thy jus say stupid shyte.

...It's not funny if it hurts.

Why did the woman cross the road? Who cares, she needs to get back in the kitchen
Why do women have small feet? To stand closer to the sink
Why should you never buy a woman a watch? There's a clock on the stove
What do you do if your dishwasher stops working? You smack her
What is the useless peice of skin around the vagina? The woman

I do think sexism can work both ways, but it is usally directed towards women.A TV reporter once said the biggest flaw in her career was being a woman. This made me mad because I hope to work for NBC News one day.And even at school the boy athelets seem too mean more than the girls. So girls just keep your head high and let the guys know they can't stop us and we are just as good as they are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am totally for women's rights, (obviously, because I'm a girl! Lol ) And i have had problems in the past with boys putting us women in our 'place'. It royally pisses me off too, and i know how aggrivating it can be. But then again, I also know that most of the guys nowadays aren't sexist, and are getting a bad rap because of their anscestors (sp?). It's a tricky buisness, this whole issue, and i think all we can do is try to accept and understand each other.

Sexism is one of the topics that really bothers me. Guys who think that women's only jobs are to have their babies, cook their food, clean the house, and massage their feet are clearly corrupt. In the world we live in today women have a strong right to have a job and to support themselves. My mom is a single mom who works two jobs to support me. She works her butt off so that I can have nice things. Now, to say that women aren't equal to men, I'd really have to disagree. We ALL have play an equal part, and the women who are out their makin it on their own are somewhat rolemodels. Like my mom, who is a rolemodel to me.

I'm a guy, so maybe I can give you a bit of a different perspective. I also go to a school, in the south, where intolerance, not just about gender, if fairly status quo among the majority.
A couple questions pop into my mind when you talk about insensitive guys speaking out in class. Was this brought on by the lesson? Although not totally reverse discrimination, much of the time, when it is talked about women's lack fo rigths in the past, the conversation is overwhelmingly anti-man. Many males feel that this is extremely unfair, we weren't even alive during these eras, much less participatory in them. Why should we be made to feel like **** for our great, great, grandfathers indiscretions? Many times I wouldn't be surprised if those offensive comments are actually made in a defensive way. Not saying that they couldn't be more tactful or jsut keep their mouths shut.
Another question is: Why do these boys say it? Perhaps their fathers have these views. Perhaps their mothers foster these views in some ways. Many times, I would imagine that these boys also are very insecure abotu their masculinity and feel they need to do somehtign very stereotypically macho to prove themselves.
Finally, my last question is: what are these boys roles in school? Are they the bullies? THen of course they will say stupid, hurtful things!! DUH!! Or, are they very popular, maybe even somethign of lady's men. $20 says that these men are liked by more girls than the guys who keep their mouths shut. Now this gets back to the phenomena that in our adolescent years many girls revolve around boys that treat them like ****, or boys that are deemed to be "rebellious".
Well, still, even if these insights don't help, jsut remember: those little bastrds aer a minority. Most males actually, maybe, respect women.
