Everone in my year at school seems to be having sex, they come in after the weekend and say things like "I got drunk on the weekend and gave someone ****" or "I shagged my boyfriend last night" do you think this is right for 14-year-old girls?

Seriously, though, if they don't wait until they are out of high school, they are going to end up like so many others who have done the same thing.

Pregnant. Before marriage.

The reason this is a bad thing(in a non-religious sense) is that the father has utterly NO reponsibility to care for the child, no matter what he "promised" to be or do.

The end results:

1) The child grows up either a) not having a father figure or b) having a bad one if the guy stays (sex before marriage means the child learns early that it is good to sleep around without any care of consequence).

2) If the guy leaves, the mother is stuck being a single parent (or aborting, which is already discussed IN DETAIL elsewhere, so PLEASE don't get into it here).

3) The girl, if pregnant early enough (I've heard as early as nine) will have mental, if not physical, scars from the event. In fact, if anyone can honestly give me a GOOD reason to have sex before leaving high school, with the good consequences that result, I'm willing to listen. Try me.

If they wanna **** around and give **** or whatever, that's up to them. Watch, there probably gonna end up width Aids and herpes. There will be a self learned lesson in this for them.

Maybe this is because my school is big,3000 something, and VERY diverse. But I know lots of pregnant girls, lots. well comparedto the way you all talk about them I'm not surprised at all to see one walking down the halls of my highschool. And I know even more who have had an abortion. I guess its so common that people in my area are used to it. And here is an interestiong observation, most of the fathers of the kids stay with the 13-18 year old mothers at least while they are in school it seems.

Yea i think a person shoud wait till they are 17 or older, but i also think you should be able to trust the guy/girl. I'm gonna wait till im like in love with the person cuz you never know if you are gonna get pregnan or not. You could use tons of protection but still get pregnant. If you did get pregnant and it was with some random guy, then he could walk out on you and not help you take care of the child. If the person is trustful, then most likely he would help you out. I'm just sayin what i believe is all.

When you are like 17 or older, you are more mature and can handle things much better than you could when you are 14. I hear girls in 9th grade talkin like that.(they are 14 and 15) What if you got pregnant at 14? That would suck sooo bad. If you were 17 and got pregnant, it would still suck but you would have a better chance of living and you would be able to take care of things better. You get what i'm sayin? You would majorly regret it at 14 too.

Amy2003, no, YOU don't decide when I have sex. Is it OK for guys to have sex? What happens if a girl is rapped? huh? Were did you get the idea that ALL girls have to wait? Quess what Amy. It DOESN'T work like that. Than how would the guys have sex (I'm saying the straight guys) if there was no girls to have sex with?

It's their choice. What I hate is when they say stuff like "I gave a guy head this weekend" and then get mad when the whole school knows. If they don't want people to know either they shouldn't do it or shouldn't tell the whole world.

i can believe them, i think theyre stupid, and i couldnt care less if they got pregnant. so being pregnant is being cool? thats what it sounds like.

Some people just SAY they had sex to sound cool. The real number of teens who actually did have sex is probrably smaller, but the difference wouldn't be that big though.

I personally think most teenagers aren't responsible enough to decide about sex. Based on the experiences I've know some friends to have in the matter, I found that the majority of them regretted their actions later.

Regarding the 'sex before marriage is wrong' issue - this is partly religious ideal because some religions (Catholicism, etc..) condemn sex before marriage. Please do not bring religion into a non-religious discussion.

I think you and everyone else needs to stop using "retard" as an insult. It's incredibly rude and offensive. anyway, i doubt that most of those girls have ever really had sex. Sometimes, people just like 2 talk about stuff. i personally try 2 avoid it, but i know that there are kids who talk about having sex and doing drugs and stuff, but they never actually do it. the best thing to do when those topics come up is to make up an excuse to leave (i have to go to class, i have to get home, i gotta go cya later) if you are uncomftorble (and its perfectly fine if you are)

that's disgusting, inapropiate talk/behavior, unhealthy, and immoral. If i ever caught MY kids doing that i'd ship them off to military school or a convant for the rest of their high school years.

I think that ALL PEOPLE should wait until marriage. Not only girls should wait but also guys. It shows respect for you and many other people (such as you future spouse and children). Think about it. (and really ponder this before you come out and say no!) Wait till you are a parent and you didn't wait. You can't tell your kids to wait if you didn't. It wouldn't be fair.
